Amazing Places & People - Assessment This is a resource that is ready to use as a progress assessment for humanities– it’s part of a Humanities curriculum that is taught to Year 7 pupils, so covers Geography, History and Literacy skills. This was written to gather info. on how the state treated Oliver but can now be used for either identity or family, depending on the year of entry. This is one lesson that I have taken from a whole scheme of lessons. Each poem can be used as an individual lesson, or, if you would like to teach all of the lessons, search for ' Poetry Scheme - 3 Poems - Lesson Miss R' and they should all come up for you to work with. At the end of the unit, there is a reading and writing assessment that involves analysis and creativity too. This lesson is a good fun lesson for them, after I've driven them really hard and I get them to make a moviemaker film of the poem, which we upload to Youtube on the school&'s youtube channel.
