These resources span my career; from my period of teaching unqualified, through to an AST of English & Director of Teaching & Learning. Although my specialism is English, I have taught GCSE Citzienship, Language and Lit, Media Studies, Maths & History. I have also taught all of those at Key Stage 3, so there is an eclectic mix here. As the main trainer in my previous school, I have uploaded many insets and training session powerpoints too.

Writing to persuade - Selling The School lesson 2

Writing to persuade - Selling The School lesson. This is one lesson with resources from a scheme of work that I've delivered about informative and persuasive writing. The theme was advterising and selling the school. The lessons obviously have context specific images and detail and you will want to change these for your own delivery but there are a variety of tasks involved that hit all different types of writing and the pupils really like the real life context. This is 1 lesson of 10 that i've uploaded - each as a separate upload with resources attached as all can be taught standalone too.

Year 7 Transition Intro To School Lesson 10/11

This is one of 11 lessons that combine to make a full scheme of work. The lessons are designed for teaching when the pupils first join secondary school and they are based on their early experiences of school. I have uploaded all lessons with the same title above and each has a PP (if I made it) and the resources with it. In the odd case, it will just be a lesson plan. Lesson 1 has a scheme overview attached for all lessons. You will want to adapt for your own school.

This is one of several resources that I have uploaded for the teaching of Pre1914 poetry. This is taught to develop pupils comparing skills and would be relevant to the AQA new specification for language and poetry. This particular resource uses the WWTBAM format and it's a whole class quiz on a selection of poems from pre 1914.

Giving Nation Lessons - Adapted for Teaching

Those that know this scheme - in which pupils are encouraged to come up with a fundraising idea, carry it out and then raise money for a charity and entering all info onto a blog - will know that the original lessons are seriously dry and do not engage pupils in the topic at all. Therefore, I've created my own - the only thing that belongs to Giving Nation is the logo, scheme and premise. The actual lessons are mine to make them pupil friendly. If you would like the staff PP and book for staff, email me. Can&'t put it on here as its not mine.

AQA Lang Controlled Assessment Oliver Twist lsn This is a scheme of work that was used for coursework on the old spec. & it can now be adapted é changed for the teaching of Oliver Twist (pre 1914 prose). This was written to gather info. on how the state treated Oliver but can now be used for either identity or family, depending on the year of entry.
