These resources span my career; from my period of teaching unqualified, through to an AST of English & Director of Teaching & Learning. Although my specialism is English, I have taught GCSE Citzienship, Language and Lit, Media Studies, Maths & History. I have also taught all of those at Key Stage 3, so there is an eclectic mix here. As the main trainer in my previous school, I have uploaded many insets and training session powerpoints too.

Interactive Homophone Game - Ready to go

All you have to do with this is cut out the words - Basically, you give a word in the story (one of the homphones) to the pupils and they will keep it. As you read the story and say their word, their job is to stand up and check if it is the correct spelling! Great fun and an easy way to get perceptions of homophones corrected with whole class involvement and engagement.

This is one of several powerpoint lessons that I have uploaded for Section A Coursework on The Music Industry. The lesson is ready to teach with it's resources (if aplicable). Although, you will wish to adapt and differentiate for your own class. They can be taught together to reach an assessment outcome but all are suitable as standalone exploratory lessons. This lesson gets pupils to investigate the make up of album covers.

Poetry Revising How to Compare poems

This is one of a series of lessons/ activities / worksheets that I am uploading on the old AQA anthology poems. The lessons obviously have a comparative strand running through them and there are lessons for all of the poems from Cluster 1 and 2 uploaded as well as lessons that compare two poems or teach how to analyse them / compare them. Obviously no use for the old spec, but entirwely useful for the poetry comparison piece of controlled assesment in the new AQA spec.

Full Day English Language Booster Foundation - For Boys!

This is a full day session that I have put together aimed at D/C borderline students to help them to get top of Band 3 answers in the AQA Language exam. I was teaching a class of Pupil Premium boys, so the sessions are chunked, repetitive and feature really clear structures and methods to help the boys to see the clarity of how to tackle the paper with competitions and cooperative learning to boot!

Believe it or not, this very simple lesson is a reminder to D/C borderliners on how they should be writing accurately. It's to hammer home the very basics that make the very big differences in their writing marks - 2 hour lesson.

Edexcel IGCSE & AQA Lang - Dual Scheme lsns -18

Luckily, we will never be in the position again where I have to teach 2 specifications at the same time to the same class. However, this is the scheme that I created last year when this was the approach adopted by the Head. Although these lessons are aimed at both specs, the full scheme is more IGCSE skills and texts than the AQA. My AQA scheme will be uploaded as a separate entity. 2 of these texts, I've uploaded before but the whole scheme makes sense when uploaded together. Remaining lessons are uploaded separately.
