This is a series of lessons that I've used with year 9 based on the scene from a film task for AQA. It wasn&'t actually submitted as controlled assessment as it is part of building pupils up ready to sit CA in year 10 and 11.

If you do the same paper as I did with your class, then this lesson is perfectly set up - if they make the same / similar mistakes that my class did. Otherwise, I hope it will act as inspiration / template for feeding back lesson.

I am working with an exceptional trainee at the moment & we are promoting the work of author Roger Hurn. He uploads his work to the TES é we have downloaded it for our level 2 é 3 Year 7s. This lesson is lesson 2, where pupils turn the events of his story into news writing. This is an old sceme of work from when I first started teaching History. Howevever, I am sharing it because it may help others to use as a springboard. I'll be honest, the lessons need some work in order to get to the kind of standards that we need today. However, if nothing else, they will be a starting point for ideas. The scheme covers what history is and these lessons are about Julius Ceaser and Elizabeth.

This is another one of the Roger Hurn lessons. Based on the story of Hook, which has also been uploaded by Roger himself. It's a reading lesson that works on skills of prediction.
