These resources span my career; from my period of teaching unqualified, through to an AST of English & Director of Teaching & Learning. Although my specialism is English, I have taught GCSE Citzienship, Language and Lit, Media Studies, Maths & History. I have also taught all of those at Key Stage 3, so there is an eclectic mix here. As the main trainer in my previous school, I have uploaded many insets and training session powerpoints too.

This is one of several powerpoint lessons that I have uploaded for key Stage 3 pupils. The lessons are skills based and all cover war texts - from a variety of different wars. The lessons are contextualised in terms of the war period that the text originates from. The lesson is ready to teach, although you will wish to adapt and differentiate. The other lessons can be used alongside it,, but all are suitable as standalone lessons. This lesson gets pupisl to write from the persepctive of a soldier.

Nobody Has A Private Life - additional Option

This is part of a full scheme of work - all powerpoints and resources have been uploaded. Powerpoints are all separate uploads, saved by lesson numbers 1,2,3 etc. There are 9 lessons in total. Also uploaded as part of this section are resources. All lessons are saved under 'Nobody Has a Private Life'. This scheme is quite old, and will need some adapting as it was written in my PGCE year. However, it's a good starting point and pupils have very much enjoyed it over the years. Also has strong citizenship links!

You will wish to adapt and differentiate for your own class. They can be taught together to reach an assessment outcome but all are suitable as standalone exploratory lessons. This one covers how to create a brand.

This is a full PowerPoint lesson, ready to teach, and any relevant resources are also uploaded with it. This lesson’s LO: To translate information into a clear form which shows how the Nazis controlled central and local Government

Writing to persuade - Selling The School lesson 4

Writing to persuade - Selling The School lesson. This is one lesson with resources from a scheme of work that I've delivered about informative and persuasive writing. The theme was advterising and selling the school. The lessons obviously have context specific images and detail and you will want to change these for your own delivery but there are a variety of tasks involved that hit all different types of writing and the pupils really like the real life context. This is 1 lesson of 10 that i've uploaded - each as a separate upload with resources attached as all can be taught standalone too.

Can easily be adapted to your own context or the lessons can be used for other elements - ie. the generic skills that are covered.

Child Soldiers Narrative Writing Lesson 3 GCSE

This is a full lesson PP that is part of a full scheme - the other lessons have also been uploaded. It utilises the Amnesty information / website and videos on Child soldiers so has a strong Citezenship slant... the outcome, after the full series of lessons is a piece of narrative writing.
