KS3 - Henry VIII's Problems - 'What do you meme?' - Meme analysis

(1)
This is a starter activity, could be extended or used in another phase of the lesson, I use with Year 8 when analysing Henry VIII’s problems. There is a total of 3 memes which the students have to analyse. For each meme, the students must answer these questions: a) What event does this meme refer to? b) What is this meme trying to suggest? c) Rate this meme out of 10 and write down why. Interestingly, meme analysis really does promote and encourage some great historical skills. Such as, deduction, inference and understanding of the topic. Great for engagement as well. Feedback always welcome. Also, please don’t forget to follow: @mrmrsroberts_ (Twitter & Instagram)

This is an A4 source analysis worksheet that allows students to discuss and interpret a range of past and present perspectives on the Gunpowder Plot. It is a great tool to help KS3 History students in grasping the importance of inference and usefulness. The sources offer unique insight and a range of opinions. Feedback is always welcome. Consequently, I created this PDF document that provides ample amounts of exam practice questions for your students to attempt. All of them offer challenge, detail and worthwhile practice ranging in difficulty. You could print it off and give it students for homework, you could work on them in class or alternatively, you could provide model answers for each one. The choice is yours! :) Feedback is always welcome. Please don’t forget to follow: @mrmrsroberts_ (Twitter & Instagram)
