Ten of my best ‘go to’ starter activities for the MFL classroom. I can’t take credit for all the ideas, many have been inspired by ideas seen on twitter.

I use these verb tables to test my students on their tense endings on a weekly basis. Delete the endings from several boxes and ask them to fill in the gaps, start by deleting just a small number and gradually increase the number of endings that you delete until students can eventually complete a whole blank table. I also get them to complete one key irregular verb each week.

Worksheet contains the AQA vocab lists and a series of translatons from Spanish to English and English to Spanish. A great way to prepare for the translation sections of the exam or to provide ideas/structures for the speaking.

I might be a little late to the scene but I’m really enjoying Rosalías music! I think the students will too. With that in mind I’ve put together a reading, writing & photo card worksheet to introduce students to her music. It’s aimed at GCSE but could be a good intro activity for A Level. I’ve saved it under GCSE - Free Time.
