The aim of this resource pack is to introduce pupils to capital letters and full stops. Activities include matching upper case letters with lower case ones and asking pupils to punctuate sentences correctly. The full stop is introduced and pupils have the opportunity to punctuate sentences with them. Pupils consolidate their learning on paper using the worksheets provided. This resource will teach pupils how to read and say the different pronunciations of the letter string 'ough'. Most of the time we teach pupils to pronounce words using rules and then tell them about exceptions. In this case most of the pronunciations of 'ough' are exceptions or isolates. There are five whole class activities for the whiteboard. National curriculum links: 1.3, 2.3, 3.2 Teachers can assess pupils by listening to them read a section of the story in activity 1.

An interactive whiteboard resource exploring the story of Rhiannon from the Mabinogion. This lesson is based on the tale of Rhiannon's misfortune from the Welsh folk tale collection, The Mabinogion. The pack includes a version of the story suitable for KS2, a playscript, a wordsearch for revising key words, and a series of backdrops that can be used for performances of the play, or as a stimulus for improvisational drama.

Packaging is a series of Powerpoints that form a Unit of Work that supports the teaching of Design, in particular Packaging. Packaging is aimed at developing the skills needed to understand the process of Packaging and how to design a suitable product that fits the needs of the consumer. The aim is for the pupils to study the process of packaging, use 3D shapes from nets, develop their own ideas and design a cereal packet. This resource pack allows pupils to find differences and similarities between well-known fairy stories. They look at six scenes and characters from six fairy tales and then put them into the correct storybook. Pupils make a chart that compares characters and incidents in fairy tales. Pupils have the opportunity to make their own fairy tale, adding pictures and text from a large bank of images and props.
