This interactive resource contains activities for use in a series of science lessons and as a revision aid.
The activities will enable a teacher to:
* demonstrate that plants need water and light to grow
* conduct a virtual experiment
* reinforce pupils' scientific investigation skills.
Through doing the interactive activities in this pack, pupils should:
* know the difference between pushing and pulling
* understand the effects of pushing and pulling on stationary objects
* be able to predict what will happen when a toy car is pushed
* be able to draw conclusions from an investigation
* relate what they have learned to everyday occurrences.
UNIT PSY 2 – SUMMARIES OF CORE STUDIES
The core theme for this unit is psychological research. It is designed to encourage candidates to explore the nature and practice of psychological enquiry. The Summaries should be used in conjunction with the Specification and the Specimen Assessment Materials.
The aim of the lesson is to introduce students to a variety of different materials. Students will examine a number of common hardwoods, softwoods, manufactured boards, plastics, metals and compliant materials such as card.
Students studying a resistant materials course will be expected to have a knowledge of woods, manufactured boards, metals and plastics whereas students choosing a product design course will study compliant materials such as card and paper in combination with one or two other resistant materials such as metal, woods or plastics.

The activity teaches pupils how the order of sounds in a sequence may be changed to create different compositions.
Pupils are asked to create their own sequences using instrument sounds they have selected and are then asked to perform these sequences.
Pupils are able to use pictorial resources to help them sequence their musical ideas.
An online resource to help with revision for spelling common words relevant to Office Technology at Levels 1 and 2.
Covering levels 1 and 2, students can select which range of letters they wish to revise, or a random selection of 20 words.
Students can then hear the word, used in context, and have to select the correct word from a choice of 4. A 'listen again' feature is also available.
At the end of the selection, students are able to see a listing of their answers compared with the correct spellings. This list is printable.
