A lesson that looks at globalisation of clothing within geography and how fashion links in. Pupils will look at the story of a t-shirt production through videos before commenting on the link to geography and globalisation. Positives and negatives are considered before pupils consider the impact of new production and consumer behaviour.
Introduction lesson looking at Geography and Disease. The lesson asks pupils to focus on new geographical words related to disease (literacy) and a world map of diseases. Pupils can look at patterns and suggest reasons.
Pupils also compare top 10 diseases from developed, emerging and developing countries. Diamond 9 activity for reasons related to diseases included too.
Lesson 7 looks at the direct and indirect threats facing the Taiga biome. The direct threats are explored before looking at the 3 main indirect threats (acid rain, pests and forest fires). TRF comparison is made.
Lesson 4 for Topic 8 which looks at the final part for the TRF. Conservation is explored through global groups (REDD and CITES) before looking at local methods of conservation through afforestation etc. Pupils decide which one is more effective for saving the rainforest.
A lesson aimed at GCSE pupils but can be used for KS3 - looking at features and landforms within the middle course of a river - meanders and ox-bow lakes - as well as lower course features such as levees and floodplains.

Lesson 9 looks at methods of making homes and transport more energy efficient. It also looks at methods of conserving energy. Lesson 10 is a summary of energy types (pros and cons) including solar, wind, HEP, biomass, nuclear and hydrogen fuel.
Excellent for visual learners (mainly lower ability year 8 students) to look at different beaches around the world. Lots of tasks can be done (pupils write a fact-file etc).
