Pulse, Rhythm, Listen and Repeat 1 Unit of 6 Music Lessons Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2 You do not have to have a musical background to deliver this unit. In this unit, pupils partake in a range of fun, rhythmic activities which focus on developing listening and responding skills. It can be delivered to a small group of pupils, or as many as you have. It requires a small selection of percussion instruments a metronome and/or an online metronome. The resources are not prescriptive; simply use the percussion instruments that you have. Identifying Percussion Instruments by Sound and Sight One Unit of Five Music Lessons Reception and Key Stage 1 You do not have to have a musical background to deliver this unit. Comprising of five, easy-to-follow, fun music lessons based around percussion instruments. Pupils learn to recognise a range of 12 percussion instruments by sight and sound. Castanets, Chime bar, Cymbal(s), Guiro, Maracas, Triangle, Bell, Cabasa, Claves, Drum, Tambourine and Woodblock. The instruments are not prescriptive, simply use whatever percussion instruments you have and follow the lessons plans. This unit can be delivered to a large or small groups of pupils. Not confident teaching music and this pack was perfect. Easy to follow and pitched just right for my year 1 class. The only instrument I couldn’t find was a cabasa so replaced it with a rain-stick. Tongue Twisters Key Stages 1 and 2 Click and Go! Good diction is NOT about changing your accent or making you ‘talk posh’. It is about clarity - making sure what you say is heard and comprehended correctly. The most commonly known and used diction exercises are tongue twisters. These 100 tongue twisters will develop children’s listening skills and improve alliteration, pronunciation, diction and vocal technique. Arctic-Themed Music Unit One Unit of Six Music Lessons Reception and Key Stage 1 You do not need a musical background to deliver this unit. Support your pupils with learning about the Arctic in a fun, engaging and practical way. Simple to put together and extremely effective, children learn Arctic facts by rote, using the musical form, call and response.
