Tongue Twisters - Key Stages 1 and 2

(0)
Tongue Twisters Key Stages 1 and 2 Click and Go! Good diction is NOT about changing your accent or making you ‘talk posh’. It is about clarity - making sure what you say is heard and comprehended correctly. The most commonly known and used diction exercises are tongue twisters. These 100 tongue twisters will develop children’s listening skills and improve alliteration, pronunciation, diction and vocal technique. As a music and performing arts teacher, I use tongue twisters as part of warm-up routines, however there are so many wider benefits to practising them, including; • Improving pronunciation • Improving accents by using alliteration. • Strengthening and stretching facial muscles • Reducing stuttering and other speech difficulties • Public speakers, an efficient way to warm up before giving a speech • Improving reading skills • Supporting people with lisps • Increasing vocabulary • Increasing fluency • Improving brain connectivity • Neurologists and linguists suggest that tongue twisters are a significant exercise in activating your brain’s performance • Having fun! Perfect for group work and/or one-to-one. This pack includes; • 100 tongues twisters presented through PowerPoint with age-appropriate pictures • A matching set presented as PDF • Tips and hints for teachers Go check out my shop for a wide range of music resources from Newtonlab. https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/Newtonlab love to hear how much you and your pupils enjoyed this product.
