This full lesson PowerPoint is designed to teach Year 7 students about the names and uses of Scientific equipment, plus how they are drawn and labelled in scientific diagrams. This is the first in a series of three lessons I have planned which focus solely on teaching students about the basics of safe and accurate practical work. Full Lesson PowerPoint sufficient to teach the GCSE 9-1 specification Chemistry lesson on Dynamic Equilibrium. The resource is easy to follow for teachers and readily accessible for students. For Combined Science, Foundation students only need to cover the first two objectives; Higher tier candidates also need to learn about factors affecting the position of the equilibrium. Triple Science students also need to do the follow-up lesson (SC15b) on Factors affecting Equilibria. A clearer version of the worksheet can be downloaded from my shop in needed. These PowerPoints will allow you to teach students how to calculate reacting masses (the mass of product made by a given mass of reactant and vice versa). Two PowerPoints are provided: Higher-tier lesson The PowerPoint (plus worksheet with exam-style practice questions) will allow you to teach Higher-tier only content on stoichiometry and then use this alongside numbers of moles to calculate reacting masses. Foundation-tier lesson Foundation students need to learn how calculate reacting masses but they do not need to learn how to calculate numbers of moles. The PowerPoint aimed at Foundation students revisits Relative Formula Mass and shows how to use this to approach Reacting Masses in a different way. It can also be used as backup for Higher students who struggle with Moles. The resources are easy to follow for teachers, readily accessible for students and are appropriate for Combined and Triple Science classes! Other lessons on Calculations involving Mass (including the preceding lesson on Moles) are available from my shop. This PowerPoint (containing a worksheet) will allow you to teach the GCSE 9-1 specification Chemistry lesson on Electroplating (Triple Science Only). It also contains slides that provide essential background for the Core Practical involving Electrolysis of Copper Sulphate (CC10a). The Core Practical prep can be taught separately but I find it fits better alongside electroplating for Triple Science classes. **Be aware: this lesson works best if you have access to Edexcel GCSE 9-1 Chemistry textbooks. It’s not essential; other resources can be used and all information needed for students to complete the worksheets is found in the slides. However, if textbooks are available, the worksheet can be completed as an independent learning task. ** Other GCSE lessons (including other lessons on Electrolysis) are available from my shop.
