This full lesson PowerPoint (including practical activity) can be used to teach a broad range of abilities about mixtures and how to separate certain mixtures using filtration. The lesson is in keeping with the current KS3 UK National Curriculum, is easily accessible for students and simple to follow for teachers. When doing this lesson, it will benefit students if they have already had some experience of naming equipment and / or drawing scientific diagrams. If this has not been done, I have a suitable lesson available in my shop entitled “Science Practical Skills - Equipment and Safety”.
