Zones of Regulation student pass

Zones of Regulation is about supporting students to regulate their emotions so that they can get the most out of their learning. Zones Cards can support a student through a challenging time when they might need some additional support or a 5 minute time out of lesson when they are feeling overwhelmed. This template allows you to create quick and easy personalised zones cards for individual students. Fully adaptable, students and staff can negotiate the terms of the zones card so that each card is unique to the student who needs it. Students can then use these cards to present to teaching staff during the day for a ‘permitted’ time out or to request specific support when they are unable to find the words to verbalise their need. This strategy has proved a useful and reviewable intervention strategy in my school. Use of the card is logged and can support future discussion around emotions and behaviour.
