Discussion Starters

(0)
Questions that can be used as early morning work, class discussion starters, circle time questions to promote effective communication, thinking through ideas, explaining ideas to others and reasoning. These questions are great to have on the board as the children come into class first thing in the morning or after lunch to settle them down and give them something constructive to discuss in class. They support children who may not be very confident, to communicate their ideas to a partner or the class, without worrying about getting the answer right, as there are no right of wrong answers, they are all just personal opinions. The questions could also be used in a lesson about respecting other people’s opinions.
