An art scheme of work, for upper KS2, based around cultural diversity in tribes of people around the world. Chdn use batik, aboriginal symbols and T Shirt decorating. We finished the topic, with a sleepover in school - with the children setting up camp in the field, and displaying all of their learning in and around their tents. We then invited the rest of the school and parents to come and share with us. We served foods and listened to music from the different cultural groups. Geography has been uploaded in a separate unit. **My hugely popular lesson, completely updated and redesigned for the New Year. ** Children will discuss and reflect on their achievements to date. They will discuss what resolutions are, and why we make them at New Year. They will then go on to plan and write a structured letter to themselves, setting out their hopes and ambitions for the year. They will also make one firm ‘Promise’ or resolution. The letter can then be opened at a later, specified date. A fully detailed PowerPoint is included - that also sets out a structure for the letter. Scaffolds, a writing frame and a model letter are also included. All images from PIXABAY.
