Brief contextual information about Andrew Marvell and Metaphysical Poets. 4. Notes on the structure of the poem to provide students with a way to approach the poem. 5. Questions that focus on a close reading of the three sections of the poem. 6. Broad questions about Marvell’s use of satire and the role of love in the poem. 7. A creative activity to apply their understanding of the structure and get students to think beyond the poem.
