This product relates to addition and subtraction two step word problems. There are 36 worksheet activities (layout is 2 on a landscape sheet) which you can cut apart or leave as is. The worksheets are with color and b/w pictures for each problem. There is also a PowerPoint presentation showing how you can solve each problem and write the two step equations with a final answer. Content: PowerPoint Presentation Worksheets Answer Sheets which you can laminate and cut into cards Teacher Notes PowerPoint Presentation 8 Slides (Slide Show Mode for animation) Use the presentation as a whole class activity and go through suggested examples of how students can work through two step problems. Students can even work through one of the worksheet activities displayed on the PowerPoint and then share their solutions. Worksheet activities If you are looking to introduce your students to two-step addition and subtraction problems then these worksheets are suitable just to ease the students in. There are no trick word problems. There is an opportunity for students to use their own methods of solving the questions and share with the class. Other Suggested Uses You can use the activity sheets in small group work and one-to-one teaching. You can use manipulatives to explain the problem and highlight what needs to be written down to solve the two-step equations. For example, Activity 35: use real paper to solve how many sheets of paper are left in the school secretary’s printer. Early Finishers Use the worksheets as an extension to your lesson on two-step math problems. If you have students that work very quickly then place these worksheet activities in the extra work tray for them to access. They can self-check with the answer sheets/cards. This resource focuses on repeated patterns using Christmas patterns and shapes. Students can practise creating their own Christmas patterns. Teacher’s Notes describes the lesson which you can choose to make it last throughout the whole morning or afternoon or 1 hour session. Content: PowerPoint Presentation (10 Slides) - Include whole class activities, examples of repeated Christmas patterns, in the Presentation children are asked where they have seen repeated patterns of pictures - they might mention their wallpaper at home, car seat covers, on printed clothes (e.g. socks) etc. Differentiated Activity Sheets 1 and 2 - Complete the sequence of pictures Activity Sheet 1b – Pictures to cut out to complete Activity Sheets Blank Repeating Patterns Worksheets to create own repeating pattern Extension Patterns Worksheet Extension Christmas Shapes New worksheets for early finishers A one hour lesson for children to explore repeating patterns in the context of Christmas. The lesson should last 50 mins to 1 hour depending on how long your students take to design their patterns: Introduction to set the scene: 10-15mins; Main Lesson 15-20 mins; Consolidation of lesson (work at table): 20 mins; and Plenary/Closing session 5-10mins. This is an extra resource on the Euro currency coins 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, 1 euro and 2 euro coins. Updated 17 May 2022 include versions 2 an 3 reflecting how the euro/cents are written, e.g. €2.25 or 2,25€ and cents written as ‘c’. Aimed at: KS1 students learning about the euro/cents, EFL/ESL students The worksheets are in colour and black and white. ANSWERS are provided where appropriate. Each of the four worksheets contain a variety of tasks for students to complete on the topic of buying school stationery. Worksheet 1 - Students look at the pictures and price of each item and then work out how much two items of school supplies cost. Two questions at the bottom: Which student spent the most? Which student spent the least amount of money? Worksheet 2 - This worksheet is similar to the above except students add three items of stationery together. Worksheet 3 - Students answer 6 questions about the items, e.g. Which item is the most expensive? How much less does the eraser cost than the calculator? etc. The next task is to write the new price for each item which has risen by 10 cents. Worksheet 4 - The first task is to write the new price of the items which have risen by 20 euro cents. Second task - to add up 3 items of stationery at the new price. Worksheet 5 - Biggest Euro Sale Now On! - Students reduce the price of each item by 11 cents. They then recalculate the items of stationery bought. Additional worksheets: Drawing coins to match the price tags - students use the fewest number of coins as many times as they can. Add up the coins and write the total on the price tag for each object shown. Challenge: Students add up all the prices on the tags and write the total amount of money spent. This product relates to recording data, completing tally charts, creating a pictogram and completing block graphs. Aimed at: KS1 Content and description: - Teacher Notes Favourite Colour Hearts: • Worksheet A – Students complete the tally chart by counting the hearts shown below. • Worksheet B – Cut and glue activity. Students use the data from the tally chart to colour in the hearts. Then they cut out the hearts and glue onto the pictogram worksheet to produce a pictogram. Students then give the pictogram a title. • Worksheet C – Students answer questions relating to the pictogram/tally chart. (9 questions and colour the heart in their favourite colour) - ANSWERS PROVIDED • Additional work – Block Graph Worksheet. Students complete the graph with the same data used for the pictogram above. This product relates to UK sterling money pounds and pence. Its aim is to encourage students to use different skills to find solutions to a two-step problem. Aimed at: Keystage 1/Lower Keystage 2. Ideal for revising adding up coins and to finding how much more money to pay for an item. The worksheets start off with small denominations and then it increases to 50p and £1. There are 60 differentiated worksheets. Worksheet 1 - up to 10p (11 pages) Worksheet 2 - up to 20p (11 pages) Worksheet 3 - up to 30p (12 pages) Worksheet 4 - up to 50p (12 pages) Worksheet 5 - up to £1.00 (14 pages) <strong>Description: </strong> The worksheet is divided into 3 columns. The first column contains the price of the item. The second column shows the coins the customer uses to pay for the item but unfortunately it is not enough. The problem is in two parts: - Add up the total amount of the coins and write it in the blank box. Find out how much the customer is short by, i.e. how much more he/she has to pay and then fill in the box. The space above the box in the third column is for the student to show their workings out. Content: • 2 Blank clocks showing 5 mins interval - Students can use these to refer to when working on their activities. • 2 Worksheets – Showing o’clock times to convert to digital times • 8 Worksheets – Different digital clock times which students read and then draw hands on analogue clocks to show correct times. • 8 Worksheets – Different analogue clock times which students convert to the correct digital times for each clock.
