This Christmas themed worksheets resource relates to money using the 1p, 5p, 10p, 20p coins and for the more able students 50p, £1 and £2 coins. ANSWERS provided New £1 coin Includes worksheet on receiving change from £2.00 Can use as assessment and revision. Aimed: Keystage 1/Lower Keystage 2, SEND and ESL Students learning about English coins. File Type: Word and pdf. Set in the context of a Christmas Fayre -Children work out how much change they would receive if they were to buy the items on the Christmas stall. Please note it is a two-step process whereby children use their observational skill to look for the price of each item and then work out the change from each coin. They look at the prices of the Christmas items and then work out the change. They can use any method -e.g. number lines, hundred square, counting from/back - check to ensure they are using money symbols. You can use these worksheets as an extension to your lesson, as worksheets for early finishers or for group work. This maths resource relates to place value: tens and ones. Please note it is a hands on resource and the lesson plan should be used in conjunction with the presentations as there is a lesson starter presentation. It can be used for reviewing tens and ones or teaching it from scratch, so the detailed lesson plan is flexible. Some preparation is needed to carry out the activities such as collection of different coloured straws, elastic bands, suggested materials such as counters, unifix cubes; cut out the 1 digit number tiles for the worksheet or you can get children to select two numbers from a pile, write it down and then describe the place value - see 5. in the list below. This product contains: Lesson Starter PowerPoint Presentation - Counting in tens from 0 to 100 and back. Also included is the Hundred Square if you need to demonstrate counting in steps or groups of 10. Main Lesson PowerPoint Presentation (50 Slides) together with lesson plan Detailed Lesson Plan (Presentation slides are referred to)- Includes whole class and independent activities. Place Value Grids - tens/ones and tens/units - for practical activities Blank Place Value Grid Worksheet and Cut/paste activity sheets for making 2-digit numbers. Children choose a 1 -digit number from container 1 and another 1-digit number from container 2 to make a 2-digit number which they stick onto their worksheet and describe the number, e.g. 35 = 3 tens 5 ones; 30 + 5. **This resource relates to repeated addition and arrays to visualize multiplication. ** Aimed at: Year 1/2 and Lower Keystage 2, and SEND. PowerPoint Presentation (24 Slides) contains: Illustration and explanation of arrays (rows and columns) How we read the arrays What is repeated addition and how it is written (2 + 2 + 2 = 3 lots of 2 = 2 x 3), i.e 2 repeated 3 times. Whole class activity on describing an array on their whiteboards There are 3 worksheets:- Activity 1 (2 pages) - Children write repeated additions for the arrays shown. Children that require support with the activities can write one repeated addition e.g. 2 + 2 + 2 whereas a more able child will be able to write two addition models: 2 + 2 + 2 and 3 + 3. Activity 2 (2 pages) - (Extension) Same as above but the arrays are larger. There is a small section on the worksheets where it asks children to show 3 lots of 4 and then circle the groups. Activity 3 (8 pages)- Cut and Paste activity - The activity involves children cutting out buttons and arranging them in an array according to what is asked in the boxes: e.g. 5 x 2, so the student cuts out 2 lots of 5 buttons (10) and form them in an array, e.g. 5 buttons in a row and 2 columns. This is a quick lesson starter on PowerPoint for your students to review addition and subtract facts to 10. Aimed at: Reception/Year 1 Play in Slide Show. A student volunteers to choose a shape - Click on the shape to reveal the sum. He or she works out the missing number. Click on shape covering the missing number to reveal the answer. Great way to also review shapes and colours.

I have uploaded one set of A4 size numbers 0 to 20 to be laminated and displayed. You can enlarge if you wish. Also included is a set of number formation activity sheets with direction arrows for children to practise writing numerals. Aimed at EYFS/Year 1, EFL/ESL students 1. Children practise moulding dough on top of the numbers with dough/ plasticine. 2. Children practise writing inside the numbers with different colour drywipe pens. 3. Print out as many times as you like - children can draw pictures, count out objects to represent the number they are working on. Opportunity to use as a teaching resource showing children how to form tricky numbers e.g. the number 8. File Type: Publisher and Pdf format. Hope this is useful.

Updated with PDF Format. These worksheets start with pennies as an introduction to money in the real world. Show children real coins. A nice introduction for children in reception class to identify the one pence coin. The worksheets then increase in difficulty for Year 1/2. There is a gradual increase to adding money using 2p, 5p and the 10p coins. Learning intentions: I can add coins up to 7p and then 10p I can add coins up to 15p I can add coins up to 20p I can add coins up to 30p Worksheets in word format if you need to adapt them.
