This booklet supports a series of lesson and is designed for Entry Level/SEND students to allow them to access the key elements of science. If used in a mixed ability class, these booklets allow students to keep pace with the rest of the class whilst personalising the challenge and support they require.
The booklet is part of a series of booklets with a variety of tasks including matching keywords and definition, scaffolding, extended answers, research and a lot of practical work with matching results tables/graphs.
Some of the diagrams have had to be removed for copyright.
This lesson is from the series of lessons that I have created for the New Combined Science Trilogy course and are linked to the new AQA specification.
Each lesson varies in its content and are sold individually but they are also available as a complete BUNDLE (see bundles and SAVE).

21/09/16 - L23 Biology 6 mark question headings corrected
Students have their own bingo cards and then the slides gone through with different questions. Students can be awarded for a row or a full house.
Topics include: nerves, hormones, diet, auxins, genetics and more.
The idea works that students should know the foundation building blocks around the edge of the page.
The task therefore is to work inwards and begin to summarise these key points in the middle, only focusing on the things they have forgotten.
The final task is to get this all on to a postcard - their revision notes to take away! This makes it all manageable for the student.
This is one topic only and the full unit can be downloaded as a complete file.

Prediction Paper - GCSE Additional - Foundation - 2016
This paper consists of new questions that have been designed around previous examinations.
These assessments are produced after mapping questions from previous years.
This includes a mark scheme.
Great for revision and discussion.
A set of multiple choice questions that can be sued to assess students either as a starter, plenary or revision task.
Works best with voting kits, pre-made flash cards or whiteboards. Also students can record answers in back of books.
Covers: hormones, neurones, motor, sensory, CNS, menstrual cycle
Additional Biology AQA - Genetics Keyword and definition bingo.
Activity words as a starter, plenary or revision activity.
Includes pre-made questions and cards for students.
GCSE Core Science Revision Materials for plant hormones and auxins
Revision resources to support students prepare for assessments. Can be used as a starter and/or plenary too.
More resources as scuttscience and achieveinscience
A set of loop card activities for each main topic in the B1 unit. Can be used as a starter, revision and/or plenary.
Match the word with the question/definition to form a loop as quick as you can.

These ideally are printed and laminated and either used as a class quiz or several copies are made and students work in small groups.
This includes topics from the topic: diet, metabolic rate, nerves, hormones, genetics, menstrual cycle, carbon cycle and more
3 different keyword and definition spinners.
These are printed out and then cut out. The windows on the top sheet are cut out to reveal the word and its definition below. These work best if the two sheets are secured with a pin.
This is great for keyword revision and for students working in groups testing each other.
These are available for biology, chemistry and physics units.
A set of three planning cards that support students through the necessary steps to complete a successful investigation.
Steps include:
- Forming a hypothesis
- Research
- Method
- Variables - Independent, dependent and controls.
- Risk Assessment
- Conclusion
- Graphs
These can be printed on A1 sheets to make as a classroom display. They can also be printed as A3, laminated and then students can use post it notes to complete.
This is designed to familiarise students with the how science works terminology and format for laying out a clear practical.
