Spanish taboo game to drill vocabulary - theme of school/education. The resource consits of 80 cards* and a board. Each card has a word for the team to guess and a crossed word that cannot be said by the person explaining the concept. Someone from the opposite team is in charge of checking that: the ‘forbidden’ word is not said words from the same family aren’t used gestures are not made If any of the above happens, this person will shout ‘¡Para!’ (Stop!), discard the card and pick another one for the other team to carry on. Pupils can also pass if they don’t know the word or how to describe it. The teams advance as many squares as words they guess within the time given in each round. On the board, pupils can land into three different types of squares: pink and blue squares: nothing happens if they land on these ones. They just wait for the next turn. ‘doble de tiempo’: their team gets double time on the next turn. -‘intercambiad posiciones’: both teams swap positions, no matter where they are at that point. The time given to teams to try and guess as many words as possible is totally up to the teacher depending on the group’s ability and confidence with the topic. *There are also 20 aditional empty cards that can be filled in with any specific vocabulary. Sólo tienen que esperar al siguiente turno. -“doble de tiempo”: el equipo que cae aquí tiene el doble de tiempo en el siguiente turno. -“intercambiad posiciones”: los dos equipos cambian sus fichas, independientemente de dónde se encuentren en ese momento.
