BTEC 9-1 Spec, GCSE Specification. Planned for AQA, but suitable for other exam boards. This unit is the same as the bundle currently in my shop. However, I needed to create a single unit resource, to be able to bundle all of the units together :) Planned as in introduction to Sociology. These lesson introduce the key sociological arguments, so that in later units you can get straight on with applying the theory to the unit. Please review if you download.

Planned for the new 9-1 Specification AQA Paper 2. A lesson that covers the key thinkers Davis and Moore (1945). Students critique the theory and answer a 4 mark question. Model answer is supplied for self/peer assessment.

Planned for 9-1 New Specification The lesson is intended to be a research and group presentation lesson but I have included the PDF that they would search for, and they could just present using paper and speeches rather than using ICT. Depends on your group and resources that are available. Great lesson to get them to develop presentation skills, but also develops numeracy skills.

Planned for the new 9-1 AQA specification. This lesson is priced low as it is mainly a research task lesson. Students begin with the usual knowledge retention quiz, followed by a key terms match up to provide them with the basic keywords for this area. Students then complete a research task which has a challenge activity built into it. The aim is to give students 2 lessons and homework to complete this. The unit so far is very writing heavy so i like to build in some independent activities. Hence the low price of the resource.

Planned for New 9-1 Specification Lesson looking at absolute and relative poverty. Lots of UK statistics for class discussion around what they believe constitutes poverty, causes and consequences of poverty. Students then look at Peter Townsends (1979) study into relative poverty, critique it and answer 2x 3mark questions.

Planned for the 9-1 New Specification This lesson looks at the embourgeoisement thesis. Looking at Goldthorpe’s (1969) The Affluent Worker study and Fiona Devine (1992) case study.

New spec 9-1. Introductory lesson looks at the definition of family and household. The starter activity is a quiz that builds up with one question every lesson. So by the end of the unit the starter will be an 18 question quiz. The idea is that the question is something they won’t know/challenging, that they will learn in the lesson. They then answer the same question each lesson, helping them to retain the information as it is repeated each lesson. The question usually focuses on a keyword. Planned for 9-1 specification. This is the last lesson, number 15 is an assessment that is taken from a past paper so i cannot upload this as it is property of AQA. This lesson looks at feminism and patriarchy. The main crux of the lesson is to learn about the Key Thinker Sylvia Walby and her theory of the six patriarchal structures. Planned for the new 9-1 Specification AQA Paper 2. The lesson looks at Upper, Middle and Working class followed by information on The Registrar General’s Classification and The National Statistics Socio-Economic Classification (NS-SEC)

AQA New Specification 9-1- Lesson 3- Consolidation looking at Functionalist, Marxist and Feminist Perspectives. Ideal for Y11 revision, or to leave as cover. My group needed this as they struggled with the key perspectives.
