AQA A2 A level Biology Revision Questions and Answers

(0)
395 questions and answers covering section 5-8 of the AQA A-level specification. Great for self-assessment. Section 1-4 questions also available, or both sets available as a bundle. Please note that I can accept no responsibility for your final exam grade should you choose to use these revision resources. These resources are intended to help students actively revise, but students should be aware that a high proportion of the marks in your exams are AO2 and AO3 marks and students should therefore use a variety of resources and techniques in preparation for all of the question styles that will be encountered in the exam. Whilst these resources have been written with past mark schemes in mind, there is no guarantee that future mark schemes will be the same. Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information in this resource, but I am only human, so if you spot an error, please email teachsecondaryscience@gmail.com and the resource will be updated ASAP.

AQA GCSE Combined Science Trilogy Required Practical Revision Sheets

(1)
AQA GCSE required practical revision notes/sheets covering all 21 required practicals for Combined Science/Trilogy (higher tier). Despite being worth 15% of the marks, so many students don’t allocate specific revision time to the required practicals. I designed these sheets for my own students to encourage specific revision of the practicals and have seen a great improvement in practical knowledge and the ability to answer practical-based questions. Each sheet includes an example method and (where relevant) exam-style questions and model answers. The model answers for the exam-style questions have been written based on previous mark schemes, but I cannot guarantee that future mark schemes will be exactly the same. The model answers are for guidance only. Students should be encouraged to use these sheets as a starting point and update/annotate them with any further information as needed. (1)
UPDATED with coloured diagrams on answer sheets. Visually appealing worksheets covering the inheritance topic of A-level Biology. Includes 7 worksheets covering: Multiple alleles Codominant alleles Incomplete dominance Dihybrid crosses Sex linkage Autosomal linkage Dominant and recessive epistasis Due the complexity of this topic, I find these worksheets are useful to introduce each type of inheritance, before moving onto exam-style questions. Also useful as a revision / homework exercise. All worksheets are black and white to allow students to add colour to the diagrams, a process which is thought to aid the formation of visual memories. Full answer sheets are included. Nerve Impulses (AQA Section 6) summary worksheets for A-level Biology. 3 worksheets: The action potential Refractory period + propagation of a nerve impulse along a non-myelinated neurone. Factors which affect speed of conduction (temperature, axon diameter, myelination). Since introducing these visual summary worksheets, I have seen improvements across all abilities. Download includes differentiated versions for the second two worksheets (one scaffolded ‘fill in the blank’ style worksheet, and one with blank answer spaces). Full answer sheets are included, which could also be used as a handout. The action potential worksheet is available as a fully completed version, to be used as a revision sheet or a version with the just the diagram and graph, for students to add their own text to. This leaves teachers free to explain each section of the graph as they prefer (i.e. some teachers prefer to include the term ‘voltage-gated’ ion channels, some don’t). Encourage students to add colour to the worksheets to aid formation of visual memories. Autosomal linkage worksheet A2 Biology AQA

Detailed worksheet covering (virtually all) possible autosomal linkage exam questions. Could be used as homework or as an assessment (due to the low number of past exam questions on this particular topic). Includes a chi-squared question and links to/revision of meiosis Made with AQA in mind, but the specifications for OCR and Edexcel are pretty similar for this topic, so would be beneficial to those specifications as well. Mark scheme included.
