Physics Higher Paper 2 Revision and Advance Information Exam Support

Now that the “Advance Information” has been released by AQA I have put together an AQA exam question revision and assessment pack following the “major focus” list. This is themed so that it can be uploaded, completed and reviewed independently by the pupils as the mark scheme and examiners report are included. Or it can broken down to be completed in class over a few lessons. The pack is approximately 2.5-3 hrs worth of questions using the AQA times. The booklet starts with a review front sheet which lists all the specification points being reviewed. There is then a spec point break down and two questions per focus. One question followed by a more challenging one. It then ends with required practical themed questions. Each question has a place to record scores and review through a WWW and EBI list. There is then space for self review/feedback.

A saving of 25%. This bundle contains biology, chemistry and physics, paper 1 and 2 analysis. All spec codes must be examined through a three-year period with AQA exams. This is a spec code frequency analysis of the 2018 and 2019 exams for both foundation and higher exam papers leading to very specific lesson focus and pupil revision. It highlights spec codes that HAVE NOT appeared in the last two years of exams or have a low relative frequency, leading to a very high probability of most of them appearing in summer 2020. This tool has analysed 2018 and 2019 foundation and higher exam papers and completed a frequency count of each spec code. This summarises into a combined table to prepare for the 2020 exams. It highlights spec codes that have not been assessed by showing as green. It colours through a spectrum of green to red, of other specs which have been assessed, but infrequently. It shows this by a simple count and relative frequency to the number of spec codes. The relative analysis tool shows how common it has appeared relative to the number of spec points. A low spec count could still have a high relative count showing a lower probability. There is also a combined summary for F and H papers if you teach mixed groups. Each analysis is shown graphically leading to easy displays for pupils to review key areas and target their focus. On the following tabs there is a full spec checklist filterable by their appearance in either F, H or both so pupils can view this information in a checklist explaining each spec point. This has then lead to a checklist revision list for both F and H papers and a ranking order of likely topics to appear in the 2020 papers starting with units where a spec has not been assessed and then leading into those with low relative frequencies. Exam questions have been made into F and H assessment/revision document from AQA past papers and has been made specifically themed on these areas to help support and lead revision up to the summer exams. All markschemes and examiner reports are included. Hopefully this will lead to a more productive approach, in terms of revision topics and time management, for both pupils and teachers.

Want to quickly and easily review a chapter of the AQA Physics specification? Want to be able to lead pupils to a targeted revision list to enable them to close their gaps? This revision resource consists of a range of questions across the specific specification points. There are a minimum of two questions per spec code. The specification document has been closely used to guarantee the correct use of terminology and phrasing. This leads to pupils then self-marking after each sub topic. This will consist of them marking and noting the identified spec code in a WWW or EBI list. Once the quiz is completed they will then follow the instructions to create their own personalised review of the full quiz and self-generate their personalised revision list by specification name using the supplied list. This activity is 1-2 depending on the depth of revision time you allow the pupils though these tasks can be class or homework. Lesson plan included.
