The trolley problem.
Third lesson in unit of work exploring what ethics is. Students will explore the trolley problem and a number of variation of this problem including from a vegan perspective.

Sanctity of life.
First lesson in scheme of work focusing on moral/ethcial dilemmas that are faced by people around the world every day. This scheme of work looks at reasons for and against these dilemmas and what religions may say about this.
This lesson introduces students to the concept of a dilemmas and they begin to understand their decision making process based on their morals, values and beliefs.
This is a complete lesson that has been designed with non subject specialists in mind so that it is fairly easy to pick up and teach. Lesson includes differentiated tasks, work sheets, on screen task management board and relevant information.

The trinity - Christianity.
Second lesson for GCSE AQA Christianity beliefs paper. This lesson focuses on the belief in the trinity. Pupils are encouraged to think about how this could be possible by applying anaolgies to the trinity. Students then study where this belief comes from and the baptism of Jesus before students summarize their learning.

The future of artificial intelligence.
Final lesson of four focusing on introducing pupils to artificial intelligence and the ethics around it.
Students will consider how far AI can go, the coffee test, real life examples of AI in use today and then consider the fictional future of AI seen in the Terminator film series.

Development of artificial intelligence
Second lesson of four focusing on introducing pupils to artificial intelligence and the ethics around it.
This lesson allows pupils to discover the origins of AI and highlights the influence of Alan Turing. The lesson also gets pupils to think about the limits to AI by suggesting thing that people once thought “That will never happen”

Islam and terrorism
Third lesson in scheme of work exploring Islam and it’s fundamental beliefs. The series now looks at how Islam has become linked with terrorism.
This lesson addresses the issue of Islamophobia and introduces students to important key words that we help them understand why there is a link between Islam and terrorism despite this being based on a minority of Muslims. The lesson breaks down misconceptions about what Jihad is and then students study the Westminster bridge attack of 2017.

Socrates
Second lesson in scheme of work aimed at KS3 focusing on what philosophy is.
Students will study study famous philosophers such as Socrates, Plato and Aristotle and consider how their thoughts and teachings are relevant to the modern world.

This lesson looks at the practice of prayer. How, why and when Muslims pray. It is a really important part of Muslims faith and students should understand how it brings the entire community of Islam together.

Gandhi and Ahimsa.
Sixth lesson in SOW looking at main beliefs of Hinduism. This lesson looks at one of the worlds most well known Hindus, Gandhi and his belief and practice of Ahimsa. Students are familiarized with the biography of Gandhi, his salt march and some of his quotes.
Lessons are designed with non subject specialists in mind to be able to pick up and teach. Relevant information is on screen and task information is one screen also. Lesson includes all relevant resources ready to print. Lessons designed for KS3 but can be adapted up or down to suit ability of students.
