You are purchasing 2 figurative language games ready to print. These are a fun way to reinforce the literary device concepts and vocabulary! Perfect for a Center activity since it is self-checking! Game #1: simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole Game #2: puns, alliteration, idiom, onomatopoeia For each game, there are 8 game cards for each concept, 32 total. Each card has a color graphic on it that matches a box on the Answer Board. After a student states which literary device is being used, he places it on the Answer Board on top of the matching clip art. If the answer was correct, he gets to color in a square on the reproducible Game Board. Play goes back and forth until one student gets 4 In a Row colored. It's easy to do variations of the game just like BINGO. Players can agree that they will get 5 in a row, or 4 in the shape of a stamp to win. You will want to print these games ahead of time as a bit of preparation is needed. You will have to cut out the game cards and glue the 3 page answer board together. You can photocopy the game board or mount it on construction paper and laminate it to use with vis a vis markers over and over again.
