Fairy Tale Newspaper Article Lesson

Fairy Tale Newspaper Article Lesson

(0)
This lesson stems from the Literacy Shed Three Little Pigs video, looking at the alternative viewpoints of the classic tale. It begins by watching the video and then discussing the different points of view of the story with a debate and some hot seat role play. The children then go on to analyse a WAGOLL to create a checklist and finally create their own article. This lesson comes with supportive material and an optional extension task. The lesson is aimed at Upper KS2, however I have also delivered it to Lower KS2, with great success. The children really enjoyed the debate and created some very imaginative and impressive pieces of writing. If you enjoyed the lesson or found the resources helpful, click onto the downloads button and leave a review, thank you!

Lockdown Lesson Series- English Descriptive Writing

A great one off descriptive writing lesson series for both KS1/KS2! This series of 4 lessons is lockdown friendly and easy for children to complete independently at home. Each lesson looks at different descriptions to help improve children’s creative writing skills: 2x setting descriptions, 1x character looks, 1x character feelings. It includes clips and picture sources to help inspire the children with multiple links to suitable BBC bitesize pages to help them with the more technical features of descriptive writing, such as: alliteration, similes and prepositions. There are 3 levels of challenge but these are easily adaptable to suit your year group. This resource can be downloaded as either a powerpoint (if you wish to edit it) or a pdf (if you wish to put it straight up onto your school website). This resource is also dyslexia friendly!
