I teach sixth form maths students so most of my resources are aimed at A level maths. I have recently updated my resources to cover the new A level maths syllabus and I have produced PowerPoints that fully cover all of the new A level maths course. I also use a large a large amount of Notebook presentations because they are more flexible that PowerPoint. I have put a free resource on for you to try to show how the presentations work you can open it online using SMART Notebook Express website.

Poisson Distribution and Estimation using t-distribution

(0)
A presentation that explains to the students what the Poisson distribution is and how to solve a range of problems using the Poisson distribution. This includes the graphs of Poisson distributions as well as the mean, variance and standard deviation. A presentation that introduces the t-distribution and how it is used for samples below a size of 30. It shows the students how to use the standard tables to find confidence intervals using t-distribution. SMART Notebook Express presentations can be used for free by using SMART online or by downloading SMART software, also free, I use it because it allows a more interactive presentation than a powerpoint. This presentation introduces the students to hypothesis testing using normal distribution. It starts by explaining what a hypothesis test is, the key language used and also covers type 1 and type 2 errors. Also included is a presentation that shows students how to use Chi-squared test to find a goodness of fit. It covers all parts of chi-squared from a basic introduction to very clear examples, including using the standard results tables (don't forget to move them to show the answers underneath). It also goes on to contingency tables including Yates' correction.
