Three way differentiated task on calculating the area of parallelograms and triangles.
One star sheet - Handling of triangle and quadrilateral areas using simpler numbers.
Two star sheet - Handling of triangle and parallelogram areas where long multiplication will need to be applies - also touches on splitting whole numbers.
Three star sheet - Larger areas and numbers to be handled and problems that require reasoning and working systematically.

3 Differentiated Grids of words (20 in each) that are often spelled incorrectly.
Children start off with a number points and lose 10, 100 or 1000 points for each incorrect spelling they have circled (number of points lost depends on the difficulty of the challenge).
Lower Ability will start on 200 points and focuses mostly on short/frequently used words that are often seen to be spelled incorrectly.
Middle Ability will start with 2000 points.
Higher Ability (more challenging content) start with 20,000 points.
Task is ideal for a starter challenge - at the beginning of the school day or English/literacy.

A mean average word problem task with two levels of differentiation. Basic finding the mean and a second sheet incorporating more challenging problems.

This is a new teacher published book about little people called the ‘Lampkeepers’ who lived in lampposts during Victorian times. The story can be read as a standalone to children across the whole primary curriculum or it can be used in conjunction with the chapter-by-chapter comprehension quizzes that accompany it in key stage 2.
The writing is designed to be mostly phonically decodable and uses a range of writing features for good teacher modeling. Incorporated into the writing are many examples of multi-clause sentences, semicolon usage, subordination, use of coordinating conjunctions, use of the subjunctive, exclamatory sentences, similes and metaphors.

A science fiction for years 5 and 6.
The story is a teaching written novella (10 pages) split into 5 chapters. Each chapter has its own accompanying comprehension quiz of around 10 questions. Answers are also enclosed for ease of marking.
