Tables and Equations of Lines Match Up

Tables and Equations of Lines Match Up

(0)
There two sets of tables (one without negative values of x and one with) and equations to match up. There are two more tables than equations meaning that guessing is far more difficult but as an extension students can work out the missing equations of lines. This should encourage some discussion too.

Vampire Diaries - Measures

Three levels starting at simple metric conversion, then calculating with different metric units before converting imperial to metric. I used Vampire Diaries as one of my Year 9 class requested it. The worksheet is set out as a "RAG" activity where you prove what you know by answering the questions. It's short enough to be a plenary or starter and the presentation can be split into individual tasks.

Circle Theorems Notes To Complete

These sheets contain sketches of circle theorems and blanks for the students to fill in in their own words. They can then use the notes in a future lesson to fill in the blanks on the 'Fill In The Blanks' sheet. The idea was to save them drawing poor sketches in their books and to write the rules in their own words.

KS4 Maths Revision Worksheets Place Value & Negatives, Sequences, Bearings and Scales, Graphs é Charts, Factors, Multiples é Ratio, Equations é Formulae, Average é Range, Rounding. This is an attempt to make revision a little more interesting for those doing the modular OCR GCSE course. Calculate the answers, convert to letters and find my next destination on my 'Revision World Tour'.

Inequalities Colouring

I had nothing other than exam questions for inequalities so thought I'd try and come up with something a little more colourful. You solve the inequalities and colour all the integers in the grid that satisfy the inequality to reveal a mathematical symbol.

Multiplying Out Brackets

These three powperpoints are designed to lead people through multiplying out brackets. I would suggest searching for Alex Bellos' different ways of doing long multiplication on YouTube as they link nicely in with the first bit of the 'Multiplying out 2 brackets' presentation and are a bit of fun too.

Graphs - Find Your Level

This works its way up from horizontal and vertical graphs with their equations (grade F/2) to equations of circles (grade A*/9) through a series of questions on the topic and more practice questions if required. Students click through based upon their ability to answer the questions and should allow them to focus their revision at the correct point.

I came up with this activity whilst toasting crumpets for breakfast over half term. This gives the opportunity to measure/read bearings accurately and find the position of something given a bearing from two points. Answers are the best I could do from my computer screen!

Forming and solving equations in a functional way. How Many MP4 Players In A Box? - Equations. Having really struggled with a class over solving equations I came up with this idea of finding out how many MP4 players are in a box. It's an attempt to make solving equations more accessible, including multiplying out brackets.

I found this map of the Neet (Not in Employment, Education or Training) data from 2009/10. I have looked at Worthing purely because that's where I work. Not the most happy statistics, but real-life and relevent to the kids, and might encourage them to get the best grades they can before they because a statistic!
