I have been a teacher for over 20 years - all the stuff I upload has been tried and tested in my classroom. I don't mind a discussion on Twitter too where I also share new resources. I now have a personal website: https://andylutwyche.com/

Erica's Errors On Vectors 2

(4)
Erica is struggling with 3D vectors here, including unit vectors, magnitudes and areas of triangles. Designed for the new A level syllabus it doesn't get as "difficult" as they did in Core 4 but this should allow students to demonstrate their understanding.
Exploding Sequences

Exploding Sequences

(4)
This is an activity taking students through nth terms of arithmetic sequences, summing arithmetic sequences and nth terms of quadratic sequences. Different pieces of information are given each time to ensure that students develop understanding rather than get in a rut and performing a process. This should lead to discussion in class between students and teacher.
Crack The Safe - Angles Facts

Crack The Safe - Angles Facts

(4)
Three “Crack The Safe” worksheets: the first tackling “one a line, around a point etc”; the second tackling “parallel lines”: the third tackling “angles in polygons”. These are designed to be used as starters or plenaries and allow students to self-mark as the answers are on the sheet (along with some values that are not answers) - if their answer isn’t on the list of possible answers they need to check their working.

Building Blocks - Ratio

(4)
The next in the “Building Blocks” series going through all the skills that lead up to different ratio problems. I have included simplifying fractions, unit conversion, HCF before moving on to ratio problems of varying difficulty levels. Hopefully this should provide some useful revision tasks.

Building Blocks - Perimeter, Area, Volume

(4)
This takes students from fairly straightforward area and perimeter questions (trapeziums, circles etc) through compound shapes and on to cones, frustums and hemispheres including finding the height in terms of the radius for a cone. I have tried to cover all bases with it including density and capacity problems.

Law and Order of Operations - Bidmas/Bodmas

(4)
The third installment of my US crime drama series, this time on order of operations. Weed out the criminals (who are terrible at Bidmas) by checking their answers to a question set by Lieutenant Olivia Benson. As with others the worksheets aren't necessary unless you are that way inclined. It could be used as a non-calculator or as an exercise in using the calculator properly.
Equations of Lines Codebreakers

Equations of Lines Codebreakers

(4)
The usual lame jokes and two different codebreakers. The first one is just putting the gradient and the y-intercept to y=mx+c and a little bit of simple rearranging. The second sheet gives two co-ordinates and you need to find the equation of the line.
Properties of 3D Shapes Codebreaker

Properties of 3D Shapes Codebreaker

(4)
The normal lame joke (written by my 9 year old daughter this time) but covering 3D shapes and their properties: edges, vertices, faces. Designed to be used as a starter, plenary, discussion item, quick homework.
Introduction to Quadratic and Cubic Sequences

Introduction to Quadratic and Cubic Sequences

(4)
This is designed to lead on from finding nth terms of arithmetic sequences, getting students to spot a relationship from square and cube numbers. There are 4 sections each of increasing difficulty plus an extension task. This is not "superheroes" etc but should lead to nice discussions of "how do you know that?" and "how did you get that?".
General Maths Codebreaker 3

General Maths Codebreaker 3

(4)
This codebreaker is aimed at high GCSE or starting AS Level students; the usual joke punchline to discover. It contains things like negative and fractional indices, surds, completing the square.
