It is drawn from the KS2 National Curriculum but is easily adaptable for a KS3 or older audience. It has a deliberate emphasis on EDI (equality, diversity and inclusion) and reflects a passion and interest in the history, culture and natural resources of Ghana.
All three units are based on extracts from an, as yet unpublished book called Children of the Coast and Forest. It is about two 10-year-old girls on the Gold Coast in the 1850s. One is the daughter of the British Governor and the other is the daughter of a Fante merchant.
Each workbook contains a reading and comprehension activity and a research and presenting activity. In addition:

It gives biographical detail about famous historical Fante people and their contemporary descendants.
