For several years I worked with Easylearn publishers, developing resources for children struggling with English and Maths. I am one of the creators of the Froggy Match-it phonics app, which helps beginner readers to learn to read and spell effectively.

Start Making Notes helps to develop a range of comprehension and note-taking skills, and contains interesting information texts with writing frames for pupils to record key points. It is aimed at KS1 children, including less-able readers. The sheets encourage effective comprehension: accurate close reading to understand the text, and search reading, to locate the specific information required. These 3 books provide direct practice in the rules of grammar and enable pupils to use a range of punctuation correctly. First Stop covers the first, basic elements of punctuation: capital letters and full stops, uses of capitalisation and question marks. It is excellent for younger pupils and those with special needs and is suitable for a wide age range. Vocabulary is limited and the motivating tasks can be completed independently. Stop it! comprises a practical, ready- made supply of punctuation exercises and covers use of full stops, capital letters, apostrophes, speech marks etc. Stop it, Editor! covers similar areas to Stop it! but in a more editorial style. This book is full of tasks pupils enjoy, such as finding mistakes, marking and correcting texts. It is perfect to use alongside Stop it! as it consolidates skills using a different approach.
