French Interactive Quiz: Food

French Interactive Quiz: Food

(8)
An interactive quiz to use as snappy starter, fun plenary or engaging revision tool. 12 French sentences about food, each has a multiple choice answer. If the pupils selects the correct answer hey are sent o a celebration page. If the wrong answer is selected they are sent to an 'oh no' page with a funny voice. The pupils love this quiz. There are other versions available in my TES shop. You could turn it into a game of noughts and crosses of connect 4 by drawing a quick 3x4 grid on the whiteboard and pupils compete to see which team can complete a row first by answering their chosen question correctly first time. Please consider leaving feedback- it helps other users make an informed decision and really means a huge amount to me!

French Place card with question prompts

Updated Sept 2021 to include new design with up to 5 questions (different versions included with range of questions). A place card for pupils to complete and color. A great way to get to know their names during half term 1 and for them to get to know the 3 first questions: comment t’appelles-tu, quel age as-tu and ou habites-tu? There is space on the back of the card for them to write their answers so they can always see them.

French GCSE Role Play: At the hotel Board Game

(5)
A board game to practice role play statements and questions for the topic of ‘at the hotel’. Great way to revise with Yr11s. All vocabulary needed for this game is available in the GCSE Role Play Booklet/PowerPoint https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/gcse-french-role-play-revision-booklet-at-the-hotel-11872725?theme=0 (see my TES shop or click link to purchase).

GCSE French Role Play: Video 'At the Hotel'

This is a link to my You Tube channel where you will find a whiteboard animation video. This is great to use in class with the pupils- can they translate te sentences quicker than the pen? They could write them down or say them out loud? A fabulous task to set as revision as well- pupils more inclined to watch a you tube video to music (I have great stats evidence for previous year’s videos - by analysing the demographics I know that thousands of pupils watched my video in the week before the French exams!) More topics on the way. There is a bundle of activities for this topic here https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/gcse-french-role-play-task-at-the-hotel-11874119

The powerpoint contains a link to my free video hosted on my You Tube channel (the video is too big to upload to TES). Great visual resource- good engagement level- chunk it up into 3 parts and use follow-on materials available in my TES shop. https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/french-grammar-booklet-perfect-tense-regular-er-verbs-11820983 Good to set as homework task before or after the lesson.

A PDF of my simple French Story for young learners. A boy dreams he is an astronaut and visits he sun, moon and stars at night. He also bumps into an alien! There is a link to a YouTube video with audio features- great for non specialists who will appreciate the audio narrative to double check pronunciation. There are follow up resources available to purchase in my TES Shop including a board game, mini books, self correcting puzzles, worksheets and I can statements. Please consider leaving feedback, it really means a lot to me and helps others to make a decision on what to download.

Revision GCSE French Role Play: At the Tourist Office Video

(2)
A whitebaord animation video to challenge pupils to translate the role play related sentences that appear on screen before the ‘floating hand’ translates for them. This is to practise rather than introduce the vocabulary. I recommend purchasing this powerpoint https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/gcse-french-role-play-at-the-tourist-office-presentation-and-games-11875982 to accomplany the video if you want to introduce or revise the vocab needed for the tourist office.

Les Animaux 'I have, Who has' Follow Me cards

32 unique animals on these cards including pets, farmyard animals, wild animals and a few extra. Distribute the cards. The person with 'DEBUT' begins and asks the first question 'Qui a un hamster?' this prompts the next person who has the phrase 'J'ai un hamster' written on their card. They shout this out followed by their own question, 'Qui a un chien?' The game continues like this until the last person ends with 'La Fin!' Excellent for vocabulary consolidation and to inject energy into the lesson. Gets pupils interacting and speaking and listening.
Greetings Starter Cards

Greetings Starter Cards

Credit card sized word clouds- excellent starter activity. Great for revision as well. Could give out as an extension tool for early finishers. Give them out upon arrival and give them a time frame. At the end of the timeframe pupils go head to head in a 'bidding war'. Each pupil says how many they can translate and have to prove it. The highest bidder goes first- if he can get to his bid he wins, if he can't the next bidder goes and has to get to his highest bid to win.
French Valentine's Game Part 1

French Valentine's Game Part 1

(1)
Part 1 is a freebie. You don't need the other parts to play but if you would like to purchase them they are available here https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/french-valentine-s-game-11829704?theme=1 A great 'speed dating' speaking activity. Distribute hearts to all pupils and put on some French music. They circulate the room asking 'comment t'appelles-tu?' until they find their matching pair eg. Tu es Barack Obama, trouve Michelle. Parts 2, 3 and 4 use the question 'ou habites-tu?' 'qu'est-ce que tu aimes manger? and 'qu'est-ce que tu aimes faire?' Great for getting the pupils speaking. A godd one off valentines lesson without having to teach them new vocab. Could even be good for KS4 to warm them up and develop confidence with familiar questions.

Word Cloud and Odd-one-out Les Animaux

(1)
Versatile worksheet- use to: consolidate language following presentation / a homework / a revision sheet / a starter. Top half is a word cloud with 'les animaux' vocabulary. Instructions to cross off words they know, circle and look up ones they don't. Bottom half is an 'odd one out' table prompting them to decide which is the odd one out and be prepared to explain why they made that choice.
