I have been teaching for the past 10 years. Originally a Geography specialist I am now a SENCO and EAL Co-Ordinator but also teach A Level Media Studies and some Psychology. I now mentor a non-Geography specialist in my school. In the past I have taught History to GCSE and I still mark GCSE History exam papers for the exam boards. Please have a look in my shop for various Geography, Media Studies, Psychology, History and ALN resources.

ALevel Media Studies - The Advent of Home Cinema

A full lesson going through a timeline of technology from early cinema to streaming services - up to the present day and the pandemic. Lots of case study information included as well as further research tasks and a timeline task to be completed in class. I would estimate there is around two lessons worth of content depending how quickly you go through it.

Rainforest Topic Mat for pupil desks (editable)

The idea of these mats are to be printed in either A3 or A4 and laminated so they can be left on pupils desks for the duration of the topic. They are especially useful for pupils with SEN, EAL and low ability. They include useful information, facts and give pupils more meaning so they can see the bigger picture for why they are studying this topic. The list of lessons can be edited on the right of the page so you can change to fit your lessons If pupils are provided with a white board pen there is also a useful self assessment section at the bottom so you can get quick feedback even from the quiet pupils in the class at the end of your lesson

Storyboarding - Media Studies

A powerpoint used to describe what storyboarding is, why it is important and how one should be created. This could be used as an introduction to coursework. The last slide has a link to a useful YouTube video.
