It helps students to distinguish between atheism and agnostism and the Dawkins scale Starter: Write a definition of atheism Main Activities: Comparison Table; Dawkins Scale Diagram; Make a Leaflet Plenary: Mind-Map It includes a choice homework activity with three different options. Students can pick which one they would like to do or you can choose one. Lesson Topic: Aladura Unit: Alternative Religions/Beliefs Target Age: KS3 Lesson Length: Up to 1 Hour This lesson on Aladura is suitable for key stage three religious education. It is a computer room lesson so will require students to have access to devices (in class or outside). This looks at the church of Aladura from Nigeria. This PowerPoint contains five essays which students can plan as a homework activity over half term or the school holidays. This can also be used as a revision activity. This activity is designed to be a homework activity throughout February half-term but can also be used in other holidays or as a revision activity. This lesson is designed to help students practice their evaluation skills in preparation for Paper 3: Perspectives on Substantive Law. This is designed for the Eduqas exam board and the Contract Law option. This requires students to have studied all of the content but could be adapted to suit a group that hasn’t yet finished it. Starter Ten questions for students to answer covering a variety of areas of law. Answers are on the following slide. Evaluation Tips Slide of top evaluation tips Slide of generic evaluation points - these are points that students can make if they cannot think of anything or have a brain freeze in the exam Activity 1 - Essay Plan Match-Up In pairs students will be given an essay title and then arguments for and against. They should use these arguments to create an essay plan answering the question. Students should use this structure: Point Counter-Point Point This will need printing and cutting up. I recommend laminating and tying together with bands so they can be reused Activity 2 - Ideas for Reform Create a mind-map of reform proposals for each of the areas of law listed. There are three areas of law listed for tort, criminal and contract Activity 3 - Essay Practice Create an essay plan for each of the essay questions listed. Students can work individually, in groups or pairs. There are three essay questions listed for tort, criminal and contract. Plenary The plenary is an evaluation Kahoot. An evaluation point is displayed and students should select the legal authority that supports the point. The link to the Kahoot is provided in the notes section of the PowerPoint.

Topic: Chanukah Level: Key Stage Three Unit: Judaism This is a great end of term lesson for the Autumn term. It focuses on the topic of Chanukah and is designed to fit into a Judaism scheme of work. Students are expected to have some prior knowledge of Judaism although this can only be a few lessons. The lesson goes through the history of Chanukah as well as some of the traditions. It then allows students to spend time making Chanukah cards. Lesson Activities **Starter: **Guess Who? Exam Board: AQA Paper: Paper 2A Non-Textual Studies Themes:** A, B, D and E** This is a short revision lesson for GCSE Religious Studies designed to briefly cover content for the Themes Paper. There is a short starter with questions about each theme. There is then one activity for each theme. Theme A: 4 Mark Question Theme B: Research task Theme D: 5 Mark Question Theme E: 12 Mark Planning There is also a quick plenary to finish. Topic: Islam Beliefs Unit: Study of Religion: Islam Exam Board: AQA This is a revision lesson for Islam beliefs. This can be used for revision in either Year 10 or Year 11 of the GCSE course. The lesson focuses on Islam Beliefs only. This is designed for the AQA GCSE but is general enough that it could suit other exam boards as well. This induction lesson is designed to be delivered to Year 11 students who will be studying A-Level Law in Year 12. It is designed for the Eduqas syllabus with contract law option but can easily be modified to suit other exam boards and human rights The activities will work for any exam board, but you will need to alter the information about the exam and content! They are then shown five small scenarios. Students have to discuss whether they think that the person has committed murder/theft. The scenarios pick up on key controversial topics within that area such as double transfer of malice, or theft of money. The PowerPoint is ridiculously cute and Kawaii, enjoy :)

This document contains all the past paper questions from Eduqas A-Level Law exams. This is for the contract option (no human rights questions are included). The questions have been organised so that students can sit 40 minute blind essays. How I Use This I have the entire document printed. I then hand out random essays to students every week in the run up to their exam. They then have 40 minutes to answer the question/s on their sheet. When we go through the essays they’ve been given they therefore get the opportunity to look at essay plans and feedback for several essays rather than just one. Each essay is numbered at the top of the page. Make sure you get students to write the number on the top of their answer so you know which is which!
