A grinch themed science lesson - i would get pupils to solve the challenges with lego and materials. using toys or lego animals for pets. and different sized toner boxes with gifts hidden in them for the pupils to retrieve.

Schemes of work for the whole year of AQA planning for the new entry level science course, second year of planning - for all component 2’s

an end of term activity based on the science of lighthouses - pupils need to build a circuit to light the lighthouses, and then complete some other challenges - all resources needed are included in the powerpoint - i built the lighthouses from lego - build instructions included, and got pupils to choose where they would put them as well - you could build the lighthouses with other resources though

a fun end of term activity where pupils choose a planet or moon from the star wars universe and complete a series of challenges based on their chosen planet or moon - all challenges are the same but the choice of planet can make the tasks easier or harder - my pupils loved this :) - all resources needed are included in the powerpoint i used moylmods and lego for the building challenges

the first half of the new AQA entry level science planning including the first component of physics, chemistry and biology should cover year 1 of teaching the course - including a lesson i developed that could be useful for a TDA and the long term plan for entry level that can be adapted.

A lesson i created as an end of term activity for year 7 would be good for science clubs too, i used lemonade, cheap sweets you can buy 5 bags for £1 in Asda, food colouring and paper cups so they can taste their potion would be a fun english crossover lesson too as they design their own potion at the end. A simple CSI lesson - I set up a crime scene with fake blood(made out of jelly and red food colouring and warm water or buy fake blood from the pound store) (i made a hand print, blood drops and a drag mark) a head, some weapons (cricket bat, rolling pin, toy gun) and a sealed packet of drugs (flour taped up in a plastic wallet) - the first lesson had pupils collecting evidence and the second had them analysing the blood splatter from the scene all resources needed are included in the powerpoint

A simple mystery powders CSI lesson that relates to the work of forensic scientists

A simple lesson on detergents with an interpretation question and a chance for a whole class survey. Useful for the cooking and cleaning module of entry level

A collection of rate of reaction support and extension questions, they can be cut into strips and used as a support or extension in class

A self assessment style test for acids and alkalis the questions need photocopying and cutting into the strips, pupils then choose 5 to answer the star questions being the hardest. When they have finished they complete the self assessment sheet also included

A worksheet based around pupils modelling a word equation with lego, then thinking about what might happen when the reactants are used up and how this can affect the speed of reaction

A lesson including resources - I made for OCR entry level science - the cooking and cleaning module - although it can be adapted it looks at the effectiveness of washing powders- i intend a practical where they put prestained swatches of white cotton into beakers of warm water - stir it for a set amount of time and then rinse and dry the cloth - they mkae predictions about which brand of washing powder will be best and then see if they are correct - Data is a simple observation

A set of chemistry objectives for a number of the OCR entry level science modules. These are designed as a pupil assessment sheet to be stuck in at the start of a module and reviewed half way and at the end of a topic. There is also a small self assessment section where they can record there test result and do a what went well and how they can improve

A higher ability diffusion lesson for KS3 designed to include elements of collaborative learning, i designed it for an observation so it has all the elements in it that should help out including a progress check sheet and all necessary lesson resources there is a practical involved but that step can be skipped.

An investigation where pupils see what parts of a body would survive being immersed in acid the experiment can include putting plastic, calcium (labelled bone), meat (i used mince) and zinc (fillings). There are 2 levels of response sheet to go with the experiment could be for a science club or as part of a lesson

A planning sheet I made for the film canister rocket experiment, which is a fun end of term activity, but this is an experiment planning sheet that can be edited and used for any experiment, I have made an easier and harder version. I intend to print it A3 and give it to the pupils, thereby making a ready made display.
