This is a very large set of resources to introduce and practise the topic of healthy lifestyle. The lengthy PowerPoint initially introduces a set of vocabulary related to healthy and unhealthy lifestyles, with some practice activities to follow. It then goes on to introduce ‘man muss’, ‘man sollte’ and ‘man darf nicht’, ‘man sollte nicht’ and combines this with the infinitives and vocabulary previously presented. There are a range of activities to follow, including a writing activity, listening, a gap fill and a translation. A grammar section follows introducing general adverbs and adverbs of time / frequency and how to add them to a text with exercises to follow. Some of the exercises throughout this PowerPoint are divided into option A (easier) and option B (more challenging). There follows a variety of different exercises (including reading comprehensions, match ups, grammar and a writing activity with help sheet) and a second listening activity. All answers appear on the PowerPoint. Following this there are photo card activities with example answers and a range of photos for class speaking or writing work. This is aimed at Year 9 and/ or GCSE students. In all there are over 24 different activities and the PowerPoint is 107 slides long.
To accompany the PowerPoint there are two worksheet documents (one includes all activities and option A only, and the second is the same but with option B) for all the activities, which are easily editable. There is also a printable help sheet for one of the writing tasks.
Pupils will gain an excellent knowledge of a wide range of ways healthy and unhealthy lifestyles can be presented and practised, and will be confident to recognise and use them in a range of situations.
This set of resources includes a PowerPoint, which introduces the DIRT concept and explains the benefit of Dedicated Reflection & Improvement Time. There are 10 DIRT feedback sheets that are very quick and easy to use as they have a whole range of improvement suggestions for both writing and speaking activities, tailored specifically for different tense activities. Once the feedback sheets are given back with the task set, they will allow students to use their DIR Time to reflect on the feedback given and act upon it to make improvements and progress learning. This fun Easter resource gives lots of information about Easter traditions in France in English. It then goes on to introduce 10 Easter related words in French, followed with a match-up activity, anagrams and a word search. Pupils are then asked to make a French Easter card, with lots of examples and there are 5 templates that can be printed and used. Each template has ‘Joyeuses Pâques’ and an Easter picture to colour. There are also two further Easter pictures to colour. The resource finishes with a quiz (and answers included) about what they have learnt from the PowerPoint. Happy Easter!
This resource is to actively practise and use the 3 past tenses – imperfect, perfect and pluperfect. It goes through a revision of each tense with exercises to check comprehension for each tense and an accompanying worksheet. Then the main text is introduced which is part of a ‘mysterious story’. This is first as a listening activity with two different exercises to complete and a worksheet. The text is then used as a reading comprehension with a range of questions, grammar and writing activities to complete. The final writing activity involves creative writing, as students need to provide their own ending to the mystery. Answers to activities are on the PowerPoint. This should certainly take two – three lessons.
Based on the new specifications of exam boards for French GCSE, I have produced 40 different photo cards, all have 5 questions and are a range of questions to cover both foundation and higher tiers. The cards cover all 3 themes and all sub-themes. The questions are based on information from several exam boards. The assessment criteria for AQA, Edexcel and WJEC are included on the mark schemes document.
This covers the whole of Theme 3, Topic 2 – ‘Jobs, career choices and ambitions’.
The PowerPoint is very lengthy (76 slides) and contains work for at least six or seven lessons. The PowerPoint is broken down into four sections: 1) Grammar; 2) Listening; 3) Reading and Writing; and 4) Speaking. This document is in the format of worksheets/ a booklet that can be given to all GCSE students. It is broken down into themes and then into the topics within each theme. For each topic there are translation exercises both into English, as on the Reading Exams and into French, as the Writing Exams. It is 36 pages in length and contains 120 translations of varying lengths and levels of challenge. The translations have been created carefully and are in line with exam board exemplar materials. This could be used by pupils at the end of teaching each topic/ sub-theme in order to test/ check understanding and to practise translation skills or used for wider translation purposes.
This is a set of resources to introduce and practice 20 items of school equipment. The PowerPoint initially 10 items with practice exercises and then goes on to introduce and practice a further 10. The resource is easily adaptable if you want to introduce less. Articles and gender are also introduced and there is some practice of changing from un/une/ des to le/ la/ les/ l’ with grammar explanations. There is a range of activities on the PowerPoint and on an accompanying worksheet. The activities include speaking practice and repetition, match-ups, gap-fills, anagrams, a listening comprehension, grammar activities and writing opportunities. Answers for all exercises appear on the PowerPoint.
Pupils will have a good knowledge of these school equipment items, and will be able to recognise and use them readily in the classroom.
This resource is to introduce and practise the weather in the present tense. The PowerPoint initially introduces 12 weather phrases, with practice exercises. Each weather phrase has a listening icon so that you can hear the weather phrase, for pupils to repeat. There are a range of activities on the PowerPoint (as well as an accompanying worksheet), including a listening exercise, reading activities, a speaking task, a short writing task and a word search. Pupils will gain a good knowledge of a wide range of weather phrases, and will be able to recognise and use them confidently.
This PowerPoint introduces pupils to the passive in a step-by-step format. The slides contain grammar notes that pupils can note in their exercise books and use as a reference for all future work using the passive. The passive is introduced in the present, perfect, imperfect, pluperfect, future and conditional tenses.
There is also a worksheet, which accompanies the PowerPoint. This is a tried and tested method to ensure comprehension and check the ability to confidently form the passive, through an extensive range of exercises.
This resource pack will ensure students have a full understanding of recognising and conjugating verbs in the future tenses. Each PowerPoint takes you through how to (1) form the future tense with ‘aller’ and (2) form the simple future tense on a step-by-step basis, all grammar notes could be copied into ex books. There are lots of follow on exercises to check comprehension and a reading comprehension in each. These Power Points have been put together after using the grammar notes on which they are based for many years. This is a way of ensuring pupils understand and can easily use these tenses. Each PowerPoint has an accompanying worksheet for all of the exercises.
This is a set of 28 question cards and 28 answer cards to get your pupils speaking to each other in French and great to use as starters for target language practice. They include questions about name age, likes, favourites, preferences, family, daily routine, and many more.

Both question and answer cards can be given to students in pairs to practice a conversation. (Easier level)
Question cards only given to pairs to practice a conversation. Students will need to form their own answers. (Middle level)

It is essential that pupils can ask questions (not just answer them). Regular practice of these question and answer sessions will allow them to get used to asking questions and be able to formulate further questions independently.

This PowerPoint introduces pupils to a total of 36 items of clothing. The clothes are introduced in 3 sets of 12 items of clothing. In each set there is plenty of practice of each item. Pupils are able to practice answers to question about what they wear and what other people wear/ are wearing (present tense only). There are various activities for them to complete and a lengthy worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint. Also enclosed in the pack is a word search document.
After practicing all of the clothes, the PowerPoint revises colours and goes on to explain adjectival colour agreements with lots of examples. There is a table that pupils can copy or it can be printed, as a reference for all future work with colour adjectival agreements. There is then a range of exercises for pupils to practice talking about clothes and colours. This is a tried and tested method to ensure and check the comprehension throughout.
This is a set of resources to introduce and practise reading and writing in French. The first PowerPoint is a very basic story about a day out in the zoo (Une Journée au Zoo) and there are different activities to do, related to the story. The second PowerPoint is the story of the Three Little Pigs (Les Trois Petits Cochons) and there are again activities to complete about the story. The third PowerPoint is to get pupils to write their own stories in French (or use well-known stories). Pupils are to make short story books in groups (or individually). They should decide the age they are aiming their storybook at and write and illustrate a story. I have used card with my groups to make their books and I have a lovely set of storybooks! Pupils can also make a set of short activities to go with the book they have created, based on the type of activities in Power Points 1 and 2. These can then be used with classes in lower groups to read and complete the activities. It can be a really fun activity and pupils really enjoy doing it. This is ideal for pupils in years 8 or 9, prior to starting their GCSE course.

Within each set of questions in a sub-theme, they have been classified into tenses so that pupils can be clear of the tense they need to use to answer the relevant question. These can form the basis of regular classroom practice for the speaking exam and if pupils are confident with these questions, they will also be able to answer many of the questions that will form part of the photo card section of the exam.
This is a set of 30 role-plays in a printable format to use for mock/ preparation/ class practice for speaking exams. These are all based on Theme 3 – Current and Future Study and Employment. They have been compiled by studying exemplar materials given by all exam boards. There are 15 foundation tier and 15 higher tier role-plays. There is a teacher’s pack for each set of role-plays, giving the teacher’s part for each conversation. There are also two Power Points, one for the foundation role-plays, one for the higher set. Each PowerPoint starts with an explanation of the role play section of the exam and then shows each role play card, followed by showing the (!) unknown question so that students can also prepare for that/ start to predict what the unknown question could be.
This bundle will take several lessons and contains detailed resources that introduce each aspect of the Perfect Tense – regular avoir verbs, irregular avoir verbs, être verbs, reflexive verbs, and the negative with all verb types. Furthermore there is a murder mystery pack based on the perfect tense.
The murder mystery set of resources was used for both Ofsted and internally reviews lessons, which were rated as 'outstanding'. Each resource set contains Power Points with accompanying worksheets. It introduces, explains and tests understanding of all aspects of the perfect tense in a step-by-step format.
