Activity to encourage children to see addition and subtraction as inverse operations. To write the four fact family number sentences for a set of three numerals. Could be then made into a fact family neighbourhood display with a variety of different fact families. I have kept to number bonds to 10, but easily amended to whatever fact families you want the children to learn.

Designing a lunchbox to keep food cool

(0)
A graphic organiser for children to plan their design for a lunchbox that keeps food cool. Space to make notes or write reasons as well as areas to sketch the inside of the lunchbox and also provide a diagram of how the insulation works. Storage could be how the lunchbox will be stored - thinking about the shape of the lunchbox. Pupils could also consider the eco friendliness of the materials used.
