To be used alongside a practical sound hunt, listening to sounds in the environment. Using sound vocabulary, such as quiet and loud, other words can easily be substituted. A short song/rhyme has been included at the end, to recap that sounds are heard by the ears, one of the 5 senses.

Lesson based on the Sikh story of Duni Chand and the value of generosity. Guru Nanak reminds the greedy Duni Chand that when you die, you cannot take material possessions and wealth with you. Encourages children to act out the story and decide what Duni Chand could have done with his wealth. Also attached a homework sheet for children to explore words associated with generosity. Lesson taken from the Leicester SACRE RE Syllabus KS1 unit of Beginning to learn about the Sikhs: symbols, stories and sharing.
