They are designed to show the child’s understanding of their weekly text and develop their ability to form their own sentences. The pack includes - Comprehension questions for nearly 100 ORT titles. A complete topic based on Spain. File contains a week-by-week planner along with all accompanying lessons, powerpoints, worksheets, videos and other resources. Each week of the topic has a theme such as food, traditions etc. Topic was designed for lower school (P2 and P3) but can be easily adapted to upper stages. Upload of one single .zip is not allowed so I have included a screenshot of the folder organisation. The PowerPoints are made in a font called ‘Appleboy’, a free one to install if you don’t already have it.

They have been created over several years to support almost every page in the Heinemann SHM7 Numeracy textbook. Each sheet is open ended (meaning the children are never ‘finished’!) and allows children to practice the basic skills on each textbook page through play, investigation, collaboration and problem-solving. Each sheet is organised into topic folders and each has the corresponding Heinemann page in the header at the top of the page. I have found these to be an incredibly useful resource over the years at it allows one group to work completely independently while I focus on supporting another group. I also have complete sets for the Heinemann 5 and 6 textbooks in my TES author shop.

Use with a SmartPal or wipe dry sleeve to practise the correct formation of letters when writing sentences. Great for correcting mistakes easily before writing in a jotter.

Huge selection of open ended activities for first level Numeracy. These activities have all been designed for use with a SmartPal sleeve or similar wipe clean pouch. Each activity has been made to closely support the 1.1 Numeracy curriculum in Scotland. The activities are all open ended and designed to allow pupils to work independently, allowing teachers to spend more time with another group without interruption.

A Powerpoint that brings awareness of the dangers online to parents. It contains research and videos to highlight points.

CfE Early, First and Second level ICT planners that tie in with the benchmarks. They provide potential learning outcomes and some direction of what you could teach in each section of ICT. Some of the wording is based on South Lanarkshire Council systems but could easily be adapted for any authority. These are only suggested outcomes for each year and are fairly ambitious at points (but possible!). They follow DCS progression but are listed as 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc. These are my own development and are not authority endorsed planners! Hopefully they can be of use. Some basic wording sourced from Dundee planners.

Simple worksheet to record lunches and teach bar charts.

Weekly chart to promote positive behaviour. Spaces for 6 stampers a day and a reward after each 'section' of the day. Space for home and school comments and a traffic light of break/lunch behaviour.

An open-ended worksheet to practise addition building. Place spinner on one wheel then second to build sums both using concrete resources and abstract on one page. For use with SmartPal or similar dry wipe sleeve. Spinners from eBay and placed through laminate sheet.

A set of homework sheets to go with the Active Spelling Stage One program. The sheets start from the ‘sh’ phoneme and cover every phoneme in Stage One, as well as consolidation weeks. The sheets consists of - Tracing the phoneme Writing words with the phoneme on guided lines Games to practice the phoneme words CVC words Common words Cut outs of all the words at the bottom There is also an explanation sheet for parents that can be sent home.

A glasgow based persuasive letter. A description of the Glasgow Red Road flats and a video on BBC to support. The children are asked to write a letter to the Commonwealth Games Opening ceremony committee urging them not to blow up the flats as part of the ceremony.

A powerpoint to get children to redesign the Glasgow 2014 logo. Children first discuss the well known brand logos in the powerpoint and the various features that makes them effective. Then they look at previous Commonwealth Games logos and the Glasgow 2014 logo and the design features behind it (explanation available on gameonscotland). Children then design their own logo and cut out to put all hexagons together into one large collage.
