A unit of powerpoints to be used in the teaching of unit 4.1 on the AQA physics spec on energy - each lesson contains worked examples, review questions of different levels, starters and interlinks to other lessons within the unit.
A suggested teaching split for the resource is as follows- Each to be taught in a double lesson (if possible, but adapt for your use)
1.) Types of Energy/ Energy Changes in a system
2.) Kinetic energy
3.) GPE
4.) EPE
5.) Energy efficiency
6.) Power
7.) Non-Renewable vs Renewable energy
In keeping with AQA combined science new spec, suitable for higher and foundation students, this resource covers the methods of barrier and non-barrier contraception needed for exam success.
Contains:
Information Slides for students to work through Independently
Scaffolded table to pick out key notes
Practice Questions to Master Knowledge with model answers to self/peer assess
Links to other areas within the Unit 4.5
In Line with the current AQA specification for Biology B4.5 Homeostasis and Control
Complete revision mats, which when completed can act as knowledge organisers- including key word fillers, written questions and exam question practice on the mats- a great revision tool.
Resource contains full unit of work corresponding to 3.5.2 Respiration on the AQA Biology specification. These lessons are placed sequentially in one easy to find powerpoint with regualar questioning built in and exam questions present, making the resource suitable to both face to face and online teaching.
Lessons inlcuded are:
Lesson 1- Glycolysis
Lesson 2- Link reaction and the Krebs Cycle
Lesson 3- Oxidative Phosphorylation
Lesson 4- Anaerobic respiration
I have also included an exam question booklet to aid students revision alongside those embedded within lessons as AFL
Contains a differentiated worksheet in the style of a Nandos menu covering all of AQA biology’s ‘Bioenergetics’ with answers on the powerpoint to act as a tool for students to self assess their work
Contains a differentiated revision mat for AQA biology’s 4.3 ‘Infection and response’
Starting with simple retrieval questions on Pathogens such as Bacteria, fungi, protists and viruses working through human defence mechanisms, vaccines and the timeline for clinical trials
Contains a differentiated revision mat covering all the key principles in ‘Principles of organisation’ 4.2 on GCSE Biology for the AQA specification
Students work up from the bottom where there are simple retrieval questions on cells, tissues, organs and organ systems and then progress through more complex questions where they begin linking structure to function in the blood vessels, as well as answering questions related to the required practicals on enzymes and digestion within this unit. Also questions based on Coronary heart diseases and its treatment are within
Mark schemes are provided within the powerpoint to allow for full self assessment
Contains a full unit of work for OCR A level Biology topic 4.1- Communicable disease, prevntion and immune system
I have broken it down into 6 double lessons for delivery as outlined below, each lesson contains AFL and exam question practice too:
Session 1- Animal and Plant Pathogens and disease
Session 2- Plant defence against pathogens
Session 3- Non specific immune system
Session 4- Specific Immune system
Session 5- Sources of medicines and antibiotics
Session 6- Immunisation and Autoimmune diseases
Complete Double lesson covering all aspects of stem cells from AQA Biology 4.1 Cell biology- covers the 3 main types of stem cells, how they are used in medicine/agriculture, as well as discusses how to evaluate each of them- contains a myriad of exam questions for students to practice too
Contains a full lesson powerpoint covering AQA GCSE Biology 4.1.2.2 ‘Mitosis and Cell Cycle’
Goes into detail on the different phases on Mitosis , which can be suitable for higher ability classes who need a stretch
Comprehensive resource containing all the stages of the drug development timeline explained, with a timeline actvitiy for students to complete and questions on the powerpoint to consolidate learning
