I created this quiz for the children when they got back from the EXCELLENT exhibit at Bolton Museum. The questions were obviously pre-prepared and prompts given during the trip activities for a 'memory challenge' when they returned!
PowerPoints, Worksheets and lots lots more!
I hope this helps someone out when teaching this fantastic topic!
I have newly converted the Keynote I produced on mummification to PowerPoint format, this is especially good!
I have also included my creative plans when this was the hub of our creative work one year.
WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE ASSEMBLY ADDITION!
A collection of unique resources about bonfire night.
Includes…
-Uniquely designed ‘Gunpowder Plot Story.’
-Uniquely designed by myself ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ that can be used for many other topics easily, all sounds effects etc included!
-Uniquely designed article about how last year letters were discovered worth 60,000
-Powerpoint including fire safety points and fire safety advert. Also with a brief History of Bonfire night, all designed in the same sheet as the worksheets. Great as an assembly or for use in class.
- Guy Fawkes poem
-Task to alphabetically order key words
-Highly detailed ‘fact file’ (4 page document) in which children are required to make their own simplified ‘profiles’ on the main conspirators of the Gunpowder Plot. In its current form a great activity for year 5/6 although very easily adapted for years 3/4. (Worksheet included.)
-Simple Storyboard for younger / SEN children and a more complex one with space for more writing for older children.
-The history of fireworks Powerpoint presentation
-To try and help I have downloaded TWO videos from youtube, please note I do not claim to own these clips, just thought they may be useful if you were doing the topic.
Another excellent video to watch with older pupils is the Nick Knowles ‘Gunpowder Plot.’
A collection of Anne Frank Resources including a Powerpoint I made about some of her more poignant quotes.
I have also have included a video narrated by Jeremy Irons which is incredibly powerful. If used in the correct way.
A teachers guide is also included. Suitable for higher KS2 and KS3.
The Royal Family Marriage of William and Kate. Also includes elements of the royal family tree for lower KS2. Please comment or rate if you rind this useful.
A range of worksheets I designed for children to find out about the best selling toys in the last 50 years and how they have changed over time. I have also included the Keynote I used in quicktime format so it will work on your PC.
One of the activities the children had to do was to identify key selling points of toys and which market they were aimed at, this was wonderful to see their responses.
2018 Update.
These resources were originally based on a specific lesson observation, I have since included a massive amount of extras.
I have included a presentation file in BOTH Mac (Keynote) and Windows (Powerpoints) formats, this particular lesson was used in an observation highly sucessfully (outstanding) during my performance management 2 years ago.
UPDATE: I have re-uploaded the ‘mummification pictures’ in pdf format as well as the original microsoft word format due to review comments, photos are now viewable in several formats.
Two contrasting texts written about Boudicca and a timeline with her in. Lesson Plan is included.
The texts are good to look at bias.
One group of children can draw Boudicca from the details in one, one group the other and the results compared.
A song about Boudicca is also included for plenary / fun at the end of the lesson.
Powerpoint showing several photos of Roman shields that I made leading into an activity where children design their own Roman shield based on certain criteria. (UPDATE: Mac / ipad Keynote included.)
A rough weekly plan is also included
The children went on to design their own Roman Shields and then made then with cardboard and painted them.
Perfect for giving them ideas!
UPDATE: I have now included a completely unique animated Roman timeline I made that can be included in your own presentations as I have converted to movie format.
UPDATE: An excellent video included to do with tactics used in Roman times
