PowerPoint and resources for a lesson on New and Smart materials in Design and Technology. Their is a starter video (linked to YouTube) with a question sheet to ensure students are paying attention during it. Students have a worksheet that they initially work through during the teachers explanation but then use resources around the room to find out about the different Smart materials, they should then compare and discuss this with their peers. Differentiated worksheets for the main task and a plenary which links well to the progress criteria for the lesson.

This is a resource for the Pearson BTEC Tech Award in Engineering Component 1A. This is the research of different engineered products and the companies that come together to engineer them. This is a pack of resources around the write up of the report. There is a presentation to aid writing up the report and suggest certain companies that can be used around 4 different products, Drone, Motorcycle, Pedal Bike and Car. These have been vetted and researched to make sure all the information is available on the companies websites. There is a write up sheet for research and completed sheets around each company to help the completion of these. There is also an example report which uses different engineering sectors than the ones used by the students and has two made up companies so it cannot be copied but gives students an idea of higher expectations. There is also a help sheet which breaks down the report into manageable parts and explains what to include.

In this pack are all the write up resources for Component 2B for the Pearson BTEC Tech Award in Engineering Level 1/2. This is based off the example work and uses the same cheap multi tool which is available cheaply from different websites. This includes a presentation with instructions on and the tasks broken down. A help sheet with the facts about the components used and help in writing the spec. There are worksheets for the observations in the photos. A reassembly guide for the multi tool. There is also a blank workbook to complete the work on paper.

This is a full resource for the Pearson BTEC Tech Award in Engineering Level 1/2 Component 2C. The making task based around the multi tool as used in the exemplar materials. In the pack is a powerpoint with multiple lessons to explain each of the tasks from production plan, manufacturing, write up and evaluation. There is a booklet to fill in with photos taken and write up about each task. A dimension sheet for the tool, help sheets for the production plans and an example. This has been used and moderated at all levels of Pearsons laid out expectations for Level 2 Pass, Merit and Distinction.

**This is a project for a modular phone/watch/coin stand. ** There is a presentation which goes through each of the making lessons and the two design lessons associated with the project. There is a set of dimensioned drawings, done to scale, for students to follow. There are 3 different parts which students can work through at their own pace as well as two design lessons. One to design around a designer as laid out in the GCSE spec and the other to come up with their own part of the stand for another purpose. Lots of differentiation in this project and easy to follow instructions. Only uses 15mm pine wood so is cheap to run too!

A help sheet that explains how to assemble parts in Autodesk Inventor. The sheet has written instructions as well as pictures to aid students. This is a great sheet to allow students to be in control of their own learning and progress once they start to assemble and be able to make independent progress. Also good for teachers who are not too confident with the program as it talks through the basic stages of assembly which can then be built upon to increase confidence and knowledge of the program.
