A lesson to revise body parts in Spanish and to introduce the verb ‘me duele(n)’ I use this with my primary students, so it is very visual and basic. The visual games work very well to help them remember key words and to build sentences.

This is a PowerPoint that aims to get students talking from the start of the lesson. This will be part of my Spanish class routine whilst I take the register, I aim to ask randon students how they are feeling and get them to explain why they are feeling that way. The plan is to develop the slides as the year progresses and differenciate per year group (Inspired by the course Teaching Languages in Primary School- Future Learn)

The game Trapdoor (Guess my sentence) is an excellent way to get young students confidently practising vocabulary and speaking in Spanish, and the same time they develop their listening skills! The game is ideal for pair work but I often start playing against the whole class until they are familiar with the rules. Start by choosing the options to form your sentence. Students take turns to guess the sentence. If the guess correctly the get a nod and they continue guessing, if they guess wrong, they get buzzed and they have to start at the beginning of the sentence. Introduce ‘El Día de los Muertos’ to your students and give them the opportunity to design their own mythical ALEBRIJE creature. The PowerPoint introduces the meaning of The Day of the Dead and links it to the film Coco and Pepita, the alebrije that features in the film. After the context is introduced, students have to design and describe their own alebrije using the sentence builder (which includes main sentence structure and simple body parts and animals) Thank you to PROFEDEELE for the idea to create an alebrije in one of their resources.

Learn/revise the colours in Spanish with a focus on learning how to spell them. The resource includes lots of games/activities to practice them (disappearing colours, colours zooming across the screen, puzzles, guess the colour…) The are also several links to online games I have created and a link to the amazing song ‘Colorín colorado’ by Rockalingua (available for free online)

Three lessons on clothes vocabulary, adjectival agreement (colours) and the verb ‘llevar’. Vocabulary and grammar are introduced and consolidated with games and repetition activities. Each lesson includes links to additional online activities. Lesson 1 consolidate vocabulary and introduce adjectival agreement. Lesson 2 recap vocabulary and consolidate adjectival agreement. This resource is designed to teach primary students the pencil case items and to say what they have in their pencil case. The collection of slides includes games to introduce and learn the key vocabulary and also activities to practise (speaking, listening, reading and writing) how to say what you have in your pencil case, using the verb ‘tengo’. Gender and plural are covered as the main grammatical focus.
