This lesson uses Aaron Wilkes’ ‘Renaissance, Revolution, and Reformation text book’, however, could be adjusted to use a different text book. This lesson was part of a SOW on the Tudors and the Tudor era. It was used with year 8. The timer on the powerpoint can be used when in presenting mode.

This lesson was used for a year 9 group during a unit on the Industrial Revolution. The sources activity worked well and the gruesome story at the start was a great hook. Students wrote their answers for each source in their books in this case.

This lesson was used for a year 7 group, but may be more appropriate for higher ages to teach the concept of significance in History. The dustbin activity works effectively like a balloon debate. The £10 note can be printed and students can put their nominations on the back of the note.

The lesson was used with an able year 9 group, but could easily be adapted to be used with younger or older students.
