This resource explores the strong sense of manliness in reggaeton lyrics.
It analyses both negatives and positives and it’s very current.
Skills practised: reading, writing and translation. If done in class, speaking will definitely be practised with some open questions at the end.
It can be used with students in Years 9, 10 or 11, depending on their level.
If used with Year 11 students, Foundation classes would benefit more as it may be too easy for Higher groups (although good revision for them).

This is an A Level vocabulary list based on the first topic in theme 1 (Edexcel specification). It is not a long one, just a few words divided in three categories: adjectives, nouns and verbs. Words are to do with la familia, las relaciones and el matrimonio.
There are also some translations into English and into Spanish so that students can put those words into practice.
It can be used as homework or as support for less able or disorganised students.
*It now includes answers to translations.
A lesson after which students will be able to describe what an ideal friend is.
All exercises are explained in each slide with great detail.

As part of Theme 1 (La evolución de la sociedad española) in the Edexcel scheme of work, I created this two-hour lesson to discuss the role of grandparents.
Plenty of authentic materials: a reading, a listening (created from a podcast seen in RTVE) and a translation (from El País).
Whole lesson on the context of Spain’s transition to democracy, explaining both the roles of the King Juan Carlos I and Adolfo Suárez, but focusing on Suárez.
Authentic materials have been used for listening tasks and adapted for reading comprehension questions.
There is a speaking at the end taken from the Edexcel exam in 2018.
I created this ppt to get my students to practise vocabulary on the topic of holiday. I used it with a Year 11 group, but it can be used with a high ability Year 10 as well.
