Persuasive letter Skills focus: modal verbs, parenthesis, blendign description, action and dialogue elements, relative clauses and expanded noun-phrases. Extended narrative innovation 4. Non-chronological report The lesson plan and resources included are suitable for Y5/6 children. Included in the pack is a full unit of lesson plans including lesson starters, a modelling Powerpoint to support all of the lessons in the unit as well as the lesson resources. Apart from adding your groups onto planning and adding any specific needs required by your children or the use of your TA, this is a pick up and go unit. Key skills: Expanded noun-phrases, ing openers, modal verbs, complex sentences with relative clauses, blending description. action and dialogue elements and subject/verb agreement. To make life easier, the lessons on the plan are numbered and then this is correlated with numbered Powerpoint slides and the numbered resources. Anything to make teaching life easier! As this was planned for a Y5/6 class, some lessons have two versions of the resource (Y5 and Y6) so that you can tailor/adapt the learning to meet the needs of the children in the class. Enjoy! Y6 No Nonsense Spelling PPTs (Whole year - 6 half term ppts)

This resource is a huge time saver! I produced these PPT’s to correlate with the No nonsense spelling framework. This worked successfully in Y6 as it meant I could literally open up the ppt each morning and I was good to go. The spelling practise follows the no nonsense spelling programme (Y6) which included revisits some prior learning as well as new learning. Again, this is to be used alongside the No Nonsense Spelling programme. I also have these available for Y3 and Y5.

Full 3 week unit for 'A Bear Called Paddington' Y3

Full 3 week unit for 'A Bear Called Paddington' Y3

One of my favourite novel as a theme units! This 3 week unit of planning promotes children to use lots of new vocabulary to enhance their writing and reading skills! Skills are practised and reinforces throughout the thorough 3 week unit e.g. sentence structure skills, vocabulary, recounts skills, descriptive skills, writing in 1st and 3rd person, grammar starter prompts plus more. I found that this text was a winner with children as eventhough it had lots of new unfamiliar vocabulary to challenge and stretch the children’s language choices, the humour and mischief that Paddington gets up to throughout the text consistently pulls the children in and makes them enjoy their writing! (Hence making a teachers job easier!) There are some resources to support, along with links to videos where appropriate. The DVD is always a plus to support teaching so that the chidlren can see snapshots of parts of the book that they have read in action (Paddington and the bathroom scene went down a storm!) I strongly recommend this as a Novel as a theme! Planning id detailed, differentiated, with recommended TA/T support where needs, including plenaries, success criterias and grammar starter ideas. All learning objectives are lifted from the Y3 literacy objectives. Enjoy!
Full Topic planning for Anglo-Saxons Y3

Full Topic planning for Anglo-Saxons Y3

(0)
This is a fully planned and differentiated Topic (Called 'changing worlds' -you don't have to call it this if you don't wish) based on full coverage of Y3 history skills focusing on the learning of Anglo-Saxon Britain. As well as History skills, the planning clearly identifies NC skills for other foundation subjects which are covered in this planning! The planning included a ppt to support chn's visual understanding throughout theme as well as to support you when teaching. Planning covers areas including Anglo-Saxon; - homes - leisure - everyday life/roles - time line skills - significant events (The discovery of Sutton Hoo) - comparisons of how things have changed over time - observing artefacts/using sources to collect information about the past - questioning skills - understanding of how Anglo-Saxons came into power - fossils The planning is very clear to follow. Each activity is differentiated for HA/MA/LA appropriately, however you may of course have to differentiate further depending on the individual needs of children in your class. I have spent a long time planning this topic, using all necessary documents to ensure NC skills and knowledge are being taught to ensure progression! Download and save yourself time!

Week 2 of mystery Genre (week 2 being sold also in my shop) Week is based on the mystery genre story 'I'll take you to Mrs Cole' (story included in a powerpoint). Chn relate to the story by imagining that they are the child and that they are wondering and threating about what is inside their Head Teachers office. Full unit of work for Y3 Stone age Britain! Plus extra cross-curricular resources!

Full unit of work for Y3 Stone age Britain! Plus extra cross-curricular resources!

(0)
Full unit of work (14 detailed and differentiated lesson plans) for teaching stone age-iron age Britain, including curriculum overview to support cross-curricular planning ideas, a powerpoint to support teaching and a large bulk of resources to support a wide range of activities (writing, food technology, art, DT, science etc) plus some display resources. A must for anyone teaching this for the first time on the new curriculum and for anyone who is looking to save time and to not have to make own resources from scratch! Some resources provided are linked to the popular animated film 'The Croods' which is based on a family living in stone age Britain, I used these in litracy. showing them a short clip from the film (e.g clip of a certain character) and then using this to stimulate creative/descriptive writing in a fun way. There are also lessons linking to science learning objectives to help you cover the 'rocks and soils' unit. As a taster to the planning, the first lesson includes using a mystery box to which children pull images from and discuss ideas about what they are going to be learning about. Another practical lesson provides a carousel of activities which will enable the children to experience what stone age life would be like. In another activity, children learn about tools and are encouraged to work in teams to design and build a tool for a purpose using only resources found in their outdoor school environment! (Brilliant if you have access to a forest school area). Something like this would have been great when I was looking fir ideas but ended up having to make many myself. Please use, reuse and teach on! :)
