5 homework sheets aimed at helping students develop their skills in planning an answer for Language Paper 1 Question 5. Each sheet asks students to plan a list of powerful vocabulary (challenge to find synonyms to improve their vocab choices), a list of language devices and a list of the senses. Tasks and questions are differentiated throughout and there is a help sheet to support lower ability students with structuring their answer. Lesson uses the poems ‘Poppies’ and ‘Remains’ and students are asked to think about the key themes, similarities and differences and then eventually answer a differentiated exam style question (3 question choices.)
